Three musical things to kick a Monday morning off in the right way, do like this first taste of the new Gryphon Rue album….

1: Gryphon Rue4n_Objx – Now this is good. There’s only one track fron his new album available in terms of listening on his Bandcamp right now but we have the whole of the new Gryphon Rue album here, June 28th is the release date, little early to review the whole thing yet, we will soon, it is something rather good. It is something rather different, Gryphon Rue is an artist, composer, and musician based in New York City so we’re told. More soon…

2: Neuro… No NeuroMental Cassette (Audiobulb) – It feels delicate, almost fragile, like you need to tip-toe around the freshness of it, the brightness of it, the pin-point minimalist nature of it, soft folds. “Neuro… No Neuro (NNN) is a moniker of the electronic musician Kirk Markarian, an abstract music producer/synthesist, painter, and graphic designer residing in the arid desert of Tucson, Arizona. Currently he works as an Animal Cage Wash Technician at the University of Arizona”

This new release doesn’t feel that different to 2022’s Faces & Fragments, both albums move in their own time and minimalist space. there is a spoken word element, that gently changes the dynamic without ever imposing. The new album is out as a cassette tape and digital download on 15th June 2024. Find both the new album and previous releases on Bandcamp

3: A Knife BalletScattered Red, Blue & Black – Thought we’d said something about this already? maybe not? Slightly baroque, slightly quite a few things actually, certainly a touch of John Carpenter soundtrack about it,  maybe a hint of Van Der Graaf? The seven minutes of the title track here are brooding, they’re mean, they’re full bodied, they’re rather dramatically beautiful actually, orchestrally rich, violins, a cello, viola, piano, filthy guitar (not too filthy), far too interesting to be put in the Post-rock box, well worth your ears, there’s musical adventure here, a need for more…    Bandcamp / Linktree
