THINGS OF THE DAY NOVEMBER 19th… FAIRHORNS, HENRY MOORE, MATH THE BAND and the view from the back of the pond…
Some things for a Monday… just things, gathered together, things to explore, links to go jumping on. no thrills, keep it simple, just for the hell of it, no other motive…. just the enjoyment…
FAIRHORNS
Fairhorns – ‘Doki Doki You’re Fucking Dead’ From the upcoming album ‘Doki Doki Run’ – out soon on Invada Records (video by James Hankins). Who or what is or are Fairhorns? “Fairhorns is the sound of the dirty future to come. More prosaically – but not by much – Fairhorns is Bristol based multi-instrumentalist Matt Loveridge, best known for his role as guitar abuser and keyboard/synth manipulator in acclaimed experimental rock trio Beak> alongside Billy Fuller (Fuzz Against Junk) and Geoff Barrow (Portishead, Quakers)”. You may also know Matt as Team Brick.

SAVE OLD FLO…

MATH THE BAND
BAD JOKE, from MATH THE BAND‘s new album Get Real (out this week).
“We are a band that is called “Math the Band”. We have been around for a long time. First, this was a band of 14-year-olds, now it is a band of twenty-somethings, who just happen to act like they are 14-year-olds. We use vintage synthesizers, drum machines, hand made electronics, broken guitars, video-game systems and broken drums to make loud, fast, weird music. We have played somewhere in the neighborhood of 850 shows throughout North America and the United Kingdom. We have toured with Andrew W.K, Wheatus, Peelander-Z, What Cheer? Brigade, Harry and the Potters, MC Lars, MC Frontalot and MC Chris. We have played shows with Japanther, Matt and Kim, Dan Deacon, and Afrika Bambaataa (to name a few). Some people say our band is terrible; they are not wrong. Some people say we are the best band ever; they are correct. Some people say we are too loud; they are stupid. Some people say we play to slowly; we are working on it! Give us a break!!!!”

Have a listen to CHAIN OF FLOWERS, they’re opening for the rather excellent DIE! DIE! DIE! at the Old Blue Last, East London, this coming Thursday November 22nd, and all for free…
Found an old CARDIACS ticket…..

More things tomorrow (maybe)
