You kind of know when a record company sends you an e.mail about some “hotly-tipped” band who’s new video is being “premiered” on this corporate music site or that one over there, then the thing is almost certainly going to be some sugar-coated teeth-rotting blandness, this “hotly-tipped” new video is no exception, “I think I’ve taken all I can take” sings the “hotly tipped” singer, rather think he’s right, the in-box is clogged up with “hotly-tipped” bands and press releases telling us we’ll love this one, nah, not one worth even the briefest of mentions in the last few days …. Here’s some kids in a German school instead….

“An Elementary School Class Performs Kraftwerk’s ‘Die Roboter’ – “Hey, fellow Germans—remember music class back in school, where you had to play horrible folksy songs, clap or learn to play the German national anthem on recorder (no shit)? Well, at Lemmchen elementary school in Mainz, 30 minutes outside of Germany’s bank capital Frankfurt, they do things a little bit different. Check their rendition of the Kraftwerk classic “Die Roboter”, cardboard robot costumes and all”.

Last day of the rather fine Laura Bruce exhibition at New Art Projects, well worth your time if you have time, do make the time. More details via that link you just passed…
