Dave Buonaguidi, Say It With Flowers at Nelly Duff, Columbia Road, East London, Sept 2019 – I don’ know, calling the art an artist makes “fun” feels a little throwaway, a little lazy, a touch insulting and that really isn’t the intention here, this is fun though, this is classic pop art fun, pop art mass production, positive fun on the best of senses, serious fun/ Dave Buonaguid has a way with words, with letters, he really is is saying it with flowers, those letters on those seed packets are a delight, those packets themselves are classic pieces of Americana. A “brand new show from Hackney’s most infamous wit and squeegee bandit Dave Buonaguidi” and yes, a bounty of smile-inducing pieces of pop art fun, say it with flowers, you don’t need me to say much more, love it, great fun, proper pop art fun… (sw)
