It was only the other day that Sarah posted about her posts, “My studio is overflowing with post and colour” she said. And here they are, Sarah’s latest posts. We have talked to her about them before – 13 QUESTIONS FROM ORGAN: Artist Sarah Jones and her recently discovered deep love of posts.
Sarah Jones was of course once Sarah Smith, she of Cardiacs and we love her posts. Here’s the Summer incarnation of the Impermanent Post at Adhisthana Buddhist Community in Hereford.

And as we said a couple of days ago, the Art on a Postcard Summer auction event is fast drawing to a close, you only have until July 6th to explore the four-hundred or so pieces of postcard sized art, before it all closes. There’s some big names involved, there’s also some rather exciting new names alongside some of the regular participants, it is delightfully difficult to narrow it down to just six images but that is exactly what we have invited a number of people to do.
The whole auction can be explored on line via the auction website although, yes, maybe the art does look a little flat and lifeless on there? I rather thought, when seen in the flesh at the one night viewing at Hoxton Gallery here in London last week, the cards started jumping off the wall, the colour came to life, and yes, I would point out that every single card, every piece of art, looks far more exciting in real life than it does on line on the auction site. Bid with confidence people, justice is not quite being done on line (as it rarely is with an exciting painting). I did select my own six but now I look again, I could easily select an alternative six. Explore the photos from last week’s viewing, explore the auction, from what I see there’s some exciting art that’s about to sell at a stupidly low prices, and yes, it is about fund raising, this is the fifth annual Summer Auction in support of The Hepatitis C Trust, all the art has been donated by the artists and all profits go to the trust… (sw)
The Art on a Postcard Auction site
So a couple of days ago we invited people to make six selections from the Summer auction – This Summer’s Art on a Postcard auction ends this week, here’s selections from Turkish artist Melike, KayoDot’s Toby Driver, participating artist Caitlin Flood-Molyneux, painter Emma Harvey and… – we just asked for the lot numbers, we didn’t ask them to explain why, we just asked for six lot numbers, we posted a number of te selctions already, explore them via that link you just passed. And then Sarah’s selections arrived
As always do please click on an image to see the whole thing or to run the slide show
