Weasel Walter QuartetRevolt Music (ugExplode) – This is an album from 2006, here’s what Weasel has to say about it today, “here’s another archival freebie . . . back in the early ’00s, i ditched chicago for the bay area in one of the best decisions i ever made in my life. i wound up smack dab in the middle of an amazing scene of experimental-ish rock bands (that’s a topic for another post). when that kind of petered out, i got a serendipitous call from Damon Smith that issued in the next phase in one fell swoop. i had long turned my back on improvised music, mostly because i didn’t care for what was going on in chicago. well, it turned out there was certainly more to be done and more people to do it with, and i wound up diving headfirst back in. My 2006 album “Revolt Music” picked up the inzane free jazz vibe i had last documented on The Flying Luttenbachers’ 2000 “Trauma” epic with recharged vitriol and the great Henry Kaiser in tow….”

And today Weasel has posted that the album is now available on Bandcamp as a free download, but hey, it is a pay what you want situation, we imagine Weasel, like most commuted artists, is not swimming in royalty cheques or record label advances, indeed he pretty much does it all himself and this really is a glorious noise. We’ve probably posted or written about this album a number of times but it is a glorious ride and well, we don’t need to review it again do we? You have ears, feed your ears and feed the Weasel…  Bandcamp
