Never mind nothing, on with the music and what we said last time or last week or last year, you’ve read all this already, never mind the editorial, never mind the biscuits just jump down past this editorial, who needs an editorial? Jump past and let the actual music do the actual walking and the talking. Exact same thing again, another five (or so) slices of musical things that have passed our way recently and however you like to slice it and of course it was the price of apples and here comes the intro, Don’t be flippant she said, how could it ever be flippant?
Five? There’s something rather compelling about five. Cross-pollination? Five more? Do we need to do the editorial bit again? Is there another way? A better way? A cure for pulling flying rabbits out of the clouds? Is there a rhyme? Is there a reason? Was there ever a reason? What do reasons make? Five more? Snake oil? Everything must go and same as last time (and the time before that) five, and no, we never do and the proof of the pudding is in that proof reading. When we started this thing, oh never mind, it doesn’t matter why we started this damn thing and like we asked last time, does anyone bother reading the editorial? Does anyone ever actually look down the rabbit hole or is it all just method acting? We do really try to listen to everything that comes in, we do it so you don’t have to, we are very (very) very very picky about what we actually post on these fractured pages or about what gets played on the radio or indeed what we hang in a gallery. Cut to the chase, never mind the editorial, there’s loads of music further down the page, well five or so pieces of music that have come our way in the last few days and cut cut slash and cut it, who needs an editorial or words or worms in general? What’s Wordsworth? Just facts and links and sounds then. Here you go, play the music, grab your five, eat your greens, go eat some art, go eat some fresh music and don’t forget whatever it was we said last time…
Here we go again, same as last time, in no particular order, starting here in London…

1: The Oozes – Attention! They may have ruined the colour blue for us and blah blah blah and strap and they might not ever answer but we do rather adore those multi-coloured Oozes, this is their urgently good first new music of 2024, Ultrasound just came out on Jelly Cube Records and it is just about the only ultrasound related music we’re interested in…
2: Squidpisser – More Squidstuff, a lead track from a new EP (and comic book), and don’t ask me to explain any of it guv, I’m right on offer ‘ere, bleedin ‘ell! We did mention then a couple of weeks ago, they’re doing things with SkinGraft and the last time I checked, SkinGraft were still one of the very best record labels on the planet and well we did mention the Squid before and ‘ere you go if you want more – ORGAN THING: A delightfully frantic Squid Pisser live session via Half Way Home while we wait for the Squid’s first SkinGraft release… and ORGAN THING: For the sake of clarity or the price of noise, Skin Graft have gone and signed three new bands in the shape of Squid Pisser, Hyper Gal and Bunuel who appear to feature Oxbow’s Eugene S. Robinson… They seem to have gone and vaporized the U out of a neighbour, that’s not very neighbourly of them, not sure I;d want them living next door, here’s that track – Vaporize a Neighbor – don’t say we don’t trat you good…
and if one Squid Pisser attack isn’t enough, this has just come our way as well as well, something with Yako of Melt Banana which, if we play it right now will probably vapourise our delicate next door neighbour street artist superstar who likes to get up extra early and shake his cans so he’s probably in bed by now. here’s more on that release via Three.One.G.
one more for good meansure then we’ll calm things down with some peaceful French post rock and the refined sound of Goodbye Meteor..
3: Goodbye Meteor– A healthy slice of instrumental post rock in the shape of Destructuration by French band Goodbye Meteor from their new album We Could Have Been Radiant, due out on February 9th on Dunk! Records. No doubt something will be appearing on their Bandcamp any moment now
4: Corridor – There’s a glorious opening to this rather beautiful piece of music, actually everything about the way this piece builds up is glorious. This is Mourir Demain by Corridor From their just announced album, Miimi, out on Sub Pop Records on April 26, 2024.
5: Kim Gordon hardly needs us, and this has been out for over a week now but hey, kind of like where she’s going hete, and not just to the cleaners either. A piece of music that Features on The Collective, the new album from Kim Gordon out on March 8th
And while we’re here, this one always feels new….
And a proper bit of disco and a whole load of street art, what is there not to like? This is the new single from Sinkane. How Sweet Is Your Love is taken from Sinkane’s new album ‘We Belong’, out April 5th on City Slang. More via Bandcamp
and one more
More in a big we expect….
