Ah damn, what is there to say, well probably a million things actually, a million stories and remember that time? And did he really do that!? and Robin’s got some news, Robin’s got some news, tell us your news Robin. The sad news of the passing of larger that life one man drum riot Robin Guy has just come our way. Robin from Rachel Stamp and Sack Trick and a many other things, including that time when the news was of Faith No More, yes that Robin! Ah damn!

“This is Robin’s wife, Jessica. This is the hardest thing I will ever have to write. With absolute devastation I have to announce the passing of the brightest star, Robin after a six year battle with cancer. Robin has had the most incredible, crazy, colourful, rock and roll life and career and always stayed in good humour whatever he did, so with this, I ask for you to please share photos, videos, stories and tales of his R’nR chaos as this is Robin’s legacy he will always want to be remembered for. He put his heart and soul into everything he did and touched so many lives. The world will be a much darker place without him so let’s keep his spirit alive”

Jessica is right (and I hope she doesn’t mind us sharing her words here) he was one of the brightest stars, a drum beast with a big broad puppy dog smile, an arch stick twirler, the man lived for his drums. Here at Organ and ORG Records we encountered Robin many many times, he featured on records we released, he played many Organ gigs, he drank many a rider, he ran the door one night, he was rubbish at that, he was known and loved by so many people and “I can’t charge him, he’s my mate”, no one paid that night! Everyone will have a Robin Guy story, everyone will have a smile when they think of him, ah damn. Rest in Peace Robin…

Our thoughts are with Jessica and Robin’s friends, family and family of bands…

“”He was a man born to play music, and had nothing but enthusiasm for his fellow players. He was living his best musical life, loved to perform and was so supportive of others”. so said Steve Braund just now, Steve nailed it there, Robin was so supportive of others… Robin was is and always will be a legend.

Here he is banging hell out of that kit….

And this is what Robin’s news was actually about, the day he joined Faith No More (for a day)

And here he is at an Organ gig in Fulham, he was the Sack Trick drummer so naturally he did have to sing Beth

Ah we had lots of fun with Robin…

Ah look, I just saw this, this is a Robin’s post on Facebook from May 25th this year! This year while he’s battling cancer!

“I’d like to think that my track record is fairly spotless when it comes to Commitment To Rock n’ Roll…

I have done some great things, some crazy/ insane things, and some straight-up dangerous things when it comes to my love of getting onstage and making the show happen – be it changing my life-saving Chemotherapy so I can play Sham shows, flying back with Bruce Dickinson from playing Graspop festival in Belgium, so that I can headline Thurrock Music Festival the same day with Rachel Stamp, impaling my Drumstick through my eyelid, onstage in Atlanta with The Business – 1 week into a 55-shows-in-60-daze tour (and not missing a show), or playing Liverpool with Eric Faulkner’s Bay City Rollers and then getting driven straight to Rebellion Punk Music Festival in Blackpool to play with The Grit – setting up my drums onstage whilst the intro plays…

But this one might just be the maddest – in fact, when I told it to my good friend David Ryder Prangley from Rachel Stamp, he said “That’s singlehandedly THE most insane and Rock n’ Roll thing I have ever heard…”

So…tmrw I’m playing Punk On The Peninsula festival up in Dunoon, Scotland – I’m guesting on a couple of tracks with The Ramstampits – we are on main stage at 1:45pm.

But to get there, I am:

– Getting Cab from mine to East Croydon,

– Train from EC to Victoria Train Station,

– Walk to Victoria Coach Station

– Coach to Glasgow at 10:30pm

– arrives Glasgow 7:30am Sunday

– Train from Glasgow to Gourock (1 hour)

– Ferry from Gourock to Dunoon (30 mins)

Rehearsal at 11:30am,

Onstage at 1:45pm.

Then Bite Me are also playing MainStage at 3:50pm and then it’ll be a case of grabbing some #RoadDrinks and then:

– Ferry from Dunoon to Gourock 7:30pm

– Train from Gourock to Glasgow 8:30pm

– Coach from Glasgow to Victoria 10:30pm

– Train Victoria to E. Croydon 7:30am

– Taxi EC to mine 8am Monday morning.

I think I’ve covered everything…

So unless I come home in a Bodybag, I think I’ll be spending Monday & Tuesday drinking pints of Tea and not going ANYWHERE…!

But hey – The Show Must Go On!

See you on the other side…

xRGx”

Hang on, stop press, Ruby Rumsey is organising this fundraising appeal on behalf of Jessica Rushton. We all know artists. msuicians, especially drummers live hand to mouth (Jessica is also a drummer)

“Hi, I am helping raise funds to help Jessica with costs

On September 8th, we received the devastating news that Robin had passed away.

I’m setting this fundraiser up to support Jessica his wife who along with the trauma of losing her husband and soul mate, she’s now faced with a lot of inevitable bills and costs to endure when it’s the last thing she needs to think about. For anyone asking what they can do to help, anything you can give will support towards funeral arrangements and more to ease the financial stresses at this impossible time.

Thank you to all who help ❤️”
