We orignally posted that “the London art community has been sharing this rather concerning news over the weekend, artist Sarah Cunningham has been missing since Saturday evening, we’ll add our voice to the many here and hope for the best…
The brother of 31-year-old British artist Sarah Cunningham has issued a public appeal for help after she went missing in the early hours of November 2nd. Anthony Cunningham took to X, formerly Twitter, seeking assistance locating her. He said, “My sister has been missing since 2:30 am on Saturday in Camden. She was last seen leaving the apartment complex on Jamestown Road, wearing all black. If anyone has any information, plz message me or the police. She has now been reported as officially missing.
The Metropolitan Police immediately relayed an investigation into her disappearance and released a description of her and what she was wearing. Authorities have confirmed their attempts to find her and requested “anyone with information to call police on 101, quoting CAD 2349/02Nov.” Camden Police took to X at 2:06 pm on 3 November to issue an appeal for anyone who could help locate Sarah.
If anyone knows anything…”
Sorry to say there is now a rather sad update. The Bomb Factory Art Foundation, where Sarah was a participating artist ahve jsut issued this statement
“Dear all, We would like to thank everyone who has offered support and shown such heartfelt concern for Sarah over these past few days.
It is with deep sadness that we share the news of Sarah’s passing. Sarah was a cherished and valued member of our community, a brilliant artist, and a wonderful friend. We know this news will come as a tremendous shock, and our hearts go out to all whose lives she touched.
In this time of grief, we ask that everyone extend kindness and respect to Sarah’s family and close friends by allowing them the privacy they need. We would also ask that Sarah’s passing be shared with kindness and compassion. So let’s focus on honouring Sara’s life and legacy and talk about the lovely and talented young woman she was.
To remember Sarah and her incredible talent, we invite you to reflect on her art, which stands as a beautiful testament to her creativity. Let us hold her memory close, honouring her life by keeping her spirit, her work, and her loved ones in our thoughts.
We will be planning a memorial for Sarah in the coming days and will update you all on the details of this.
With all our love at this deeply distressing time,
The Bomb Factory Art Foundation”.

We posted this page up when Sarah was still missing, we updated the page when the sad news of Sarah came though, I didn’t know Sarah Cunningham, I’ve shown art in the same places as Sarah, I’ve probable been in some of the same shows or at least been at the same shows, the London art community is both a big one and a small one. Since the sad news was announced this page has been visited hundreds of times, it still is being visited. I did consider taking the page down, I don’t know what happened to Sarah, it isn’t our place to intrude or to speculate. Sarah was clearly a talented painter, being a committed painter is always an intense thing, a very personal thing, often a very inward looking thing. People are still visiting this page, so let’s celebrate a little bit of Sarah Cunningham’s art, let’s respectfully quietly add a piece or two of her art by way of a small slice of celebration of the person and painter she was.
