Live Totality was born from an idea brought to the band Axioma to play a live set during the total solar eclipse on April 8th, 2024. Instead of playing a live “set,” the band decided to compose and perform a piece of music to coincide with said eclipse in real time. Spanning a dense fourteen minutes, these moments during the history of this earth were chronicled by the band live on the shores of Lake Erie in Lorain, Ohio, USA. And here is the footage…

The film is Shared now because the live recording is released this week as part of rather powerful four track EP

“Early in 2024, we were approached by a friend to play live on lakefront property (Lake Erie) for the total solar eclipse in April. We decided to compose a piece of music that would coincide with the eclipse in real time. Luckily all of the stars aligned (pun intended), and the weather was perfect, which is not a common occurrence in Northeast Ohio. Some friends came out to film it, and we recorded the audio ourselves. We had one shot to pull it off and are stoked at the outcome of the video and audio recording! To sweeten the deal, we went into the studio and tracked some new material we were working on, thus spawning the Live Totality EP. As usual play it loud and enjoy!” – Bassist/vocalist Aaron Dallison

And here is that rather rewarding EP from the rather darkly coloured Cleveland band via their Bandcamp page. All four tracks are worth your time, we’re talking complex metal, we’re talking human folly and uncontrollable technology, we’re talking galloping riffs, dark inward looking passages that give way to a blast or two, a punch of a riff, a moody bit of progression…
