Now what is going on here? This sounds rather good, by which I mean the actual sound of the film, the soundscape, the texture, the graceful movement, the pace. John Clay’s new film was released on line yesterday, December 27th, is that artist/singer/performer Sofia Martins Gray we see as part of it, actually there are a number of familiar names on that cast list. Twenty minutes in and so far really rather good, here’s the trailer, the whole film is further down the page….
“To save the world from an otherworldly threat, Lt Julia Earle’s consciousness is projected into outer space. All is well until her body disappears”.
Now we’re not going to start reviewing films as well as everything else, there simply aren’t the hours in the day, but this does feel good, a properly proper piece of independent cinema, a slowly evolving and so far, twenty minutes into the almost two and a half hours, a rather impressive piece of Science Fiction that rather demands full attention until the end, it feels intriguingly different, it feels rather impressive…
‘It’s a broken alien black box recorder of a puzzle movie. This film isn’t wilfully trying to confound you, it just has it’s own way of talking. There is no wrong answer, there is only your need to question cinematic space exploration.’ – John Clay, Director
