An Organ Thing of The Day? Well how about the warmth of postmodern, post punk, post human, past caring collective Mekons? The long-standing band return with a new album for 2025. Horror (out 4th April) is “a horribly prescient reflection of the world in its current miasma and how we got here”.

“The maliciously luscious new single Fallen Leaves is an appalled and appalling Hammer Horror take on climate breakdown reminiscent of Rolling Thunder Dylan that recalls The Pogues at their most introspective; its Celtic twilightism augmented by Susie Honeyman’s keening violin as the dying sun sinks down and the river Styx flows on in the pitch black night”.

The video was filmed by Mekons in Aptos, California. Edited by Samuele Gottardello, these things are always worth mentioning. You can hear a couple more tracks from the album on Bandcamp inclusing the rather spiky War Economy along with the album details (other links)
