Phonol∆b is the new collaborative project by dub-producer musician Gaudi and experimental-electronica composer Eraldo Bernocchi. The duo are set to release their highly anticipated debut album Disturbia, featuring contributions by music heavyweights such as Bill Laswell, Gerald Casale of Devo, Flowdan and Mark Stewart of The Pop Group.
The album title and single title track Disturbia was given by Mark Stewart himself during his recording studio sessions with Phonol∆b, shortly before his premature death. The album reflects some of the disruption and creative defiance Mark embodied and pays homage to his highly influential input to the UK post-punk scene.
“Gerald Casale of Devo also gave a standout contribution to this album, providing striking lyrics via Phunk Investigation and adding a futuristic yet minimalist dimension to it.
UK grime icon and Grammy Award winner Flowdan is also featured in it with his powerful vocal presence, bringing an urban and unsettled intensity to the release”.
Another key figure on the album is bass legend Bill Laswell, with whom the pair has already collaborated in the past on many different music projects. Both Phonol∆b creators Gaudi and Eraldo Bernocchi are known for their “fearlessness in music production, pushing the boundaries of sound for almost four decades and blending genres to create immersive/forward-thinking sonic experiences”.
“With this innovative and eclectic blend of deep basslines and cutting-edge sound design, ‘Disturbia’ is poised to challenge and captivate listeners with its bold, genre-defying vision, condensed in 12 tracks available on all physical formats and all major streaming platforms via Subsound Records”
The album is released on April 11th, 2025
