Shall we write a new editorial? Oh the endless demand and who needs a damn editorial? No time for editorials, let the actual music do the actual walking and the actual talking. Exact same thing again, another five (or so) slices of music that have passed our way recently and however you like to slice it and of course it was the price of oranges and here comes the editorial. Don’t be flippant she said, how could it ever be flippant? I can’t remember why she said that now, in one ear, out the other, we have a bad attitude here apparently, no respect for those who work in the music industry, well no poop Sherlock, have you only just worked that one out?
Five? There’s something rather compelling about five. Cross-pollination? Five more? Is there another way? A better way? A cure for pulling flying rabbits out of the clouds? Is there a rhyme? Is there a reason? Was there ever a reason? What do reasons make? Five more? Snake oil? Everything must go and no, we never do and the proof of the pudding is in that proof reading. When we started this thing, oh never mind, it doesn’t matter why we started this damn thing and like we asked last time, does anyone bother reading the editorial? Does anyone ever actually look down the rabbit hole or is it all just method acting? We do really try to listen to everything that comes in, we do it so you don’t have to, we are very (very) very very picky about what we actually post on these fractured pages or about what gets played on the radio or indeed what we hang in a gallery. Cut to the chase, never mind the editorial, skip this bit, there’s loads of music further down the page, well five or so pieces of music that have come our way in the last few days and what’s Wordsworth? Just the basic facts and links and those sounds (and visuals), that’s surely all you need from us?
Here we go, five more slices of music that have recently come our way, this time we start with something new from all over the place or somewhereville USA with Cringe Fantasy…

1: Cringe Fantasy – “Is this really… pop music? Well, if pop music can pull influence from Dazzling Killmen, Devo, This Heat, and Voivod …then yes!” Well that’s a statement of intent right on top of their Bandcamp page and yes, it is kind of where they’re at, four slices of awkwardly good angular pop music that kind of almost starts to think about going off and things.
Cringe Fantasy’s latest four track EP certainly bites and yes Doctor, the fever’s raging and yes we are talking U.S. Maple-like guitar riffs and all that slash and stumble, it is kind of unrelenting, perpetual, hypnotic in a slightly disturbing kind of way. Things bend, guitars, words, unhinged bits courtesy of guest guitarist Chris Trull (Yowie/Terms) and new full-time fretless bass player Roland Mosseury (Nonzoo). “Vocal duties are split three ways: band leader, Brandon Bordenkircher, channels a dose of the angular pop of the Art Bears with a large serving of vocal harmonies; vocalist Dominika Em (Chaser) delivers a manic sermon reminiscent of Nina Hagen’s raw fury; and David Kuzy (Microwaves) performs his trademark post-apocalyptic yelp”. And what else do we need to say, well all four tracks deliver, including one instrumental, here’s the Bandcamp and right now you can only hear one track, all four are as good as each other…
2: Goddess – The debut single from Goddess, Shadows ft Ex:Re. Taken from the self-titled album by Goddess, released May 30th 2025 via Bella Union – more
3: Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs – Newcastle’s riff wizards, Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs return with their fifth studio album, Death Hilarious due out 4th April on Rocket Recordings (and Missing Piece Records in North America). Today they release the “blistering” new single Glib Tongued featuring the guest vocal talents of El-P from Run The Jewels and Company Flow. The single is released with an accompanying video made by Mike Bourne (Teeth Of The Sea / Bruised Blood).
4: Mien – Here’s more from that new Mien album, we’ll be along any moment now with a few review…
5: Camilla Sparksss is back with more of that thing, that art pop or pop art or whatever that things is that she does so well. Do you speak French? No, but I understand it. Parle-moi en français. I Like The Noise is the first single taken from her ICU RUN album. This videoclip is an extract taken from the ICU RUN Movie. Movie? Well that is the kind of thing she’d do, more when we’ve dug a bit deeper, she is so consistantly good and never ever predictable….
And here’s more of whatever it is she is doing this time, Backflip is new single out March 21st 2025…
Another (very) short bit of that movie…
“ICU RUN The Movie – coming Fall 2025 – ICU RUN The Movie is a short experimental musical movie by Camilla Sparksss, inspired by her upcoming album ICUR RUN. A bold fusion of music and surreal visuals, the movie explores grief, escape, and self-discovery through a fragmented, emotionally charged narrative.
At its core, ICU RUN The Movie follows a renegade woman, played by Camilla Sparksss, as she struggles to break free from her past. Shadowing her every move is Phantom, a mischievous puppet—part protector, part tormentor—who embodies the traumas and lost relationships that still haunt her. Though unseen by others, Phantom’s presence is undeniable, influencing her choices and pulling her deeper into the chaos of her emotions.
The story unfolds in a non-linear sequence of intense, everyday moments—love, illness, devotion, and fleeting encounters with strangers—all building toward a moment of reckoning. As she fights to outrun her past, Phantom continuously reshapes her reality, pushing her toward a deeper understanding of herself.
With a mix of high-energy surrealism and biting intimacy, ICU RUN The Movie is a deeply personal journey into the lingering ghosts of memory and the search for self-acceptance”.
And while we’re here…
“The Obvious Identity, The Seaside, Rude Bootleg, Cardiacs Live, All that Glitters is a Mares Nest, The Special Garage Concerts, the Panixphere version from Leader Of The Starry Skies, and the Napalm Death cover. This song has the most official releases out of all Cardiacs songs. Here’s what they sound like together. I included the intros from the versions that have them. The audio files all sync up when the song start”
And well, You Tube through we’d all like to watch this next… Van Der Graaf Generator
