Black Country, New Road have a new album out in a couple of weeks, today they’ve released a third taste, a third track and there’s seems to be a quietly radical shift in terms of their sound and where they’re taking us now, a more delicate animal, reflective, dare I say a Cardiacs undercurrent has seeped in, the delightful side of Cardiacs (there are many sides), an almost English folk feeling, a bright feeling that has, I must admit has taken a little time to adjust to. THis new single, another piece of music from the forthcoming album that feels uplifting, that now I let it in, now that I let it flow, feels right, and here, with this latest taste of things to come with the new album,  For the Cold Country feels really right, feels quietly epic and what a build up…

The new album started off sounding a little in danger of being twee with Besties and the very (very) Cardiacs flavoured Birthday, all a little sugar sweet and well, we are starting to be won over as more is revealed. We had been rather enthusiastic in terms of previous Black Country, New Road albums of course, we await more of this new release, not sure about that album artwork though..
