This sad news just in via Cleopatra Records; “It’s with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to our dear friend and brilliant collaborator. Simon wasn’t just a musician — he was a sonic architect who helped shape the sound of a generation. He shared the stage with legends: David Bowie, Lemmy-era Hawkwind, and Nik Turner, always leaving his unmistakable mark. From the art-rock brilliance of Bowie’s “Boys Keep Swinging” era to the boundary-pushing tours with Nik and Cleopatra in the ’90s, Simon’s electrifying violin and cosmic keyboard work lifted every track, every show, every moment. His vision brought depth, texture, and soul — he simply made everything better. We miss you deeply, Simon. Rest easy, my friend. Your sound lives on”.

Always enjoyed the art of Simon’s music, especially his work with Hawkwind and the colour he added. Then there was the Bowie albums, the Mike Oldfield bits, Japan, the work with Nik Turner post Hawkwind, High Tide, those Robert Calvert albums and lot lots more. one hell of a catalogue to explore and celebrate. Simon House worked with a lot of people, he played on or had a hand in some very fine records, he always added that little something to everything he was invovled in and for that we shall thank and celebrate his art. Thank you Simon

R.I.P Simon House.  Our thoughts are with Simon’s family and friends.

Hawkwind’s fourth studio album, Hall of The mountain Grill, was the first by a new line-up that included Simon House on synthesizer, Mellotron and electric violin, he brought his own colour to an already special band, those strings on things like Damnation Alley

Nik Turner (one time Hawk, never ex though) – Time Crypt feat. Simon House

And then there was Bowie’s Lodger Album…
