Shall we write a new editorial now? Oh the endless demand and who needs a damn editorial let alone a new one? No time for editorials, let the actual music do the actual walking and the actual talking. Exact same thing again, another five (or so) slices of music that have passed our way recently and however you like to slice it and of course it was the price of oranges and here comes the editorial. Don’t be flippant she said, how could it ever be flippant? I can’t remember why she said that now, in one ear, out the other. We have a bad attitude here apparently, no respect for those who work in the music industry, well no poop Sherlock, have you only just worked that one out?
Five? There’s something rather compelling about five. Cross-pollination? Five more? Is there another way? A better way? A cure for pulling flying haddocks out of the clouds? Is there a rhyme? Is there a reason? Was there ever a reason? What do reasons make? Five more? Snake oil? Everything must go and no, we never do and the proof of the pudding is in that proof reading. When we started this thing, oh never mind, it doesn’t matter why we started this damn thing and like we asked last time, does anyone bother reading the editorial? Does anyone ever actually look down the rabbit hole or is it all just method acting? We do really try to listen to everything that comes in, we do it so you don’t have to, we are very (very) very very picky about what we actually post on these fractured pages or about what gets played on the radio or indeed what we hang in a gallery. Cut to the chase, never mind the editorial, skip this bit, there’s loads of music further down the page, well five or so pieces of music that have come our way in the last few days and what’s Wordsworth? Just the basic facts and links and those sounds (and visuals), that’s surely all you need from us?
Here we go, five more slices of music that have recently come our way, this time we start with something from South Wales, are Vile Imbeciles still from South Wales? Are they a London band now?

1: Morn – “South Wales newcomers Morn are today sharing their debut single Modern Man“; a single just released on Speedy Wunderground as part of their Speedy Single Series (and who doesn’t love a singles series? The urgency of this is does rather remind me of one or two things we may have released as part of the Org-An-Ised Singles Series back there). “Since landing in London in 2024, Morn have quickly embedded themselves in the capital’s DIY underground, selling out headline shows across London including a feral, full-throttle set at The Windmill Brixton, closing out Independent Venue Week” reads the hype in the press release, we don’t really need all that though, they clear have a bit of buzz right now and the music does all their talking for them
Vocalist and guitarist Oliver Riba comments: “Modern Man came from the wild urgency of our lives. Born from teenage riffs, shaped by laughter, anger, and fear. It’s a desperate sprint through the loneliness and madness of routine, a strange reflection on the dream of escape. It felt right that it was all captured live, and Dan Carey really brought it to life with a touch of his magic. Welcome to the world of Morn.”
‘Modern Man’ will be available as a limited edition 7″ single on 12th June here, including a dub remix B side by Dan Carey, Dan Carey’s Modern Dub.
2: The Gatekeepers – “Welcome to All The Content — a blistering satirical anthem for the overstimulated, algorithmically entranced masses. The Gatekeepers dive headfirst into our collective obsession with consumption, comparison, and cultural overload in this hyper-caffeinated, multi-voiced mini-epic”.
Who are The Gatekeepers, a question we ask rather a lot with outr painting hats on, no real idea who these Gatekeepers are, there seems to be a Cheer Accident connection and well, Cheer Accident posted the video and with the kind of curiosity that never killed the cat, that lead us to their Bandcamp and here it is, we’ll be back with more later…
“Prog Meets DIY Magic: Enter The Gatekeepers, Alex Wroten’s prog-rock brainchild! Imagine Kurt Weill, Frank Zappa, and Jesus Christ Superstar jamming in a time machine. With vintage keys and a prog Avengers team, their concept albums swing from hypnotic to wild. Three sonic universes, zero boundaries—play it loud!”

3: The Sick Man Of Europe and another piece from the eponymous debut album that comes out 20th June 2025. “With echoes of the post-punk and European art-rock pioneers of the 80s”, both the crisp music and video are by The Sick Man Of Europe, there’s probably more information on the Bandcamp page where there’s talk of a study on the tensions between human identity, technological advancement and the pursuit of meaning in the modern world and at what point do we become obsolete?
4: Rival Consoles – Where were we? “UK producer Ryan Lee West, will release his ninth studio album, Landscape from Memory on July 4 via Erased Tapes. It’s a travelogue of creativity on the move, a collection of postcards from everywhere, and an album defined by its restlessness” and this frersh taste of the album feels kind of refeshing here in the morning after the night before (nothing more than an all night painting session if you really need to know)
4: Rún – An edit of a piece called Terror Moon, something that passed our way just now, sometimes YouTube gets it right, something taken from the self titled album Rún which we’re told is released on 22nd August 2025 via Rocket. More details via this link, simple as that.
5: Disiniblud (Rachika Nayar & Nina Keith) and a rather beautiful piece called Give-upping (feat. Julianna Barwick) from the upcoming album Disiniblud, out on July 18th via Smugglers Way, here’s a link or two and down there is a little more…
And here’s a little more, this time It’s Change ft. Willy Siegel, Katie Dey & Julianna Barwick” from the same upcoming album…
And a little more of their beauty, a peice called Blue Rags, Raging Wind featuring Amigone, once again from the forthcoming album. The Bandcamp is just down there…
While we’re here, more of this, we can share enough of this….
