Shall we write a new editorial? Who needs a damn editorial let alone a new one? Who needs Organ for that matter? No time for editorials, let the actual music do the actual walking and the actual talking. Exact same thing as last time once again, another five (or so) slices of music that have passed our way recently and however you like to slice it and of course it was the price of pears and here comes the editorial

Today’s dipstick of the day award goes to the one man extreme metal band called Rush who just sent in a link to his new release. Did you not think to maybe hit a search engine or two and check if there might already have been a slightly famous band called Rush?

Five? There’s something rather compelling about five. Cross-pollination? Five more? Is there another way? A better way? A cure for pulling flying swordfish out of the clouds? Is there a rhyme? Is there a reason? Was there ever a reason? What do reasons make? Five more? Cake oil? Everything must go somewhere and no, we never do and the proof of the pudding is in that proof reading. When we started this thing, oh never mind, it doesn’t matter why we started this damn thing, we never should have done and like we asked last time, does anyone bother reading the editorial? Does anyone ever actually look down the rabbit hole or is it all just method acting? We do really try to listen to everything that comes in, we do it so you don’t have to, we are very (very) very very picky about what we actually post on these fractured pages or about what gets played on the radio or indeed what we hang in a gallery. Cut to the chase, never mind the editorial, skip this bit, there’s loads of music further down the page, well five or so pieces of music that have come our way in the last few days and what’s Wordsworth? Just the basic facts and links and those sounds (and visuals), that’s surely all you need from us?

Here we go, five more slices of music that have recently come our way, this time we start with something from Denton, Texas

1: Flesh Narc are, so we’re told, “a freaked out extreme rock band from Denton, Texas”. Flesh Narc have a new album titled Yokers coming out on September 19th on Decoherence Records, a NYC based label specializing in disoriented no-wave/noise rock. Here’s a couple of tastes of said album via their Bandcamp, we’ll no doubt try and fish out the rest of it before the release date…

2: Igorrr – Fresh Igorrr and the graceful end of a piano….

“Igorrr’s music video for Headbutt from the album Amen has been created from footage taken during the actual recording of the track. Disclaimer : The piano at the end of the video is not the same piano we used at the beginning. The piano that got destroyed at the end of the video was an already broken piano that we intercepted on its way to the waste reception center and that was unfixable. We had neither the budget nor the heart to break a working piano. We gave it one very last moment to shine”.

3: Penelope Trappes and another of her many rather beautiful moments, this one taken from what is described as an upcoming companion EP A Requiem: Æternum. I assume it is on the rather unfriendly OLI label again, ah yes, it is, that label would rather we didn’t cover their releases these days but hey, when did we ever give two hoots about record label bulshit. Here’s a Linktree and here’s her latest live dates including a gig in a church up the road from us here in East London

3 and a bit: Softcult and something from the forthcoming debut album When A Flower Doesn’t Grow

4: The Sound of Animals Fighting have a new album out any moment now (Spetember 12th on Born Losers Records if you want facts or blood on your hands or… ), the band from Dallas Texas have an album called The Maiden ready to go, right now you can hear three rather colourfully intriguing tracks on their Bandcamp page that hint at something with a little more depth. Watch this space, they have us curious…

5: The Orchestra (For Now) – Is is there any point in acting on any of these prescriptions? Here’s A new video or release or bag of whatever from The Orchestra (For Now) for today we are told London seven-piece The Orchestra (For Now) return with news of their eagerly awaited second EP, Plan 76. Out 31st Oct, the release follows closely on the heels of their debut EP Plan 75, which was released earlier this year… There you go, we’ve shared it, there it is, there’s probably a point to all this sharing music business, I’m damned if I know what it is? Here’s the video, the Bandcamp thing is down there, the music can do the talking, you ca ndecide if it talks to you, it wouldn’t be here if it didn’t talk to us…

The Bandcamp thing…

Previously…

And while we’re here, has Weasel Walter gone too far? Here’s some rather glorious just found footage of the Flying Luttenbacher with Andy Ortmann and Johnny Rampage at Burlington Bar, Chicago back in July 13, 2022 playing an ELO set of all things. There can never be too much Weasel

Before…

ORGAN: Five Music Things – The angular garage punk of Ambulanz, more Yowie, Die Spitz, Pain Magazine, Manchester’s Brutal Pink, more from Upchuck, Cardiacs, Beasties, Descendents, okay more than five again…

ORGAN: Five Music Things – Alex Bad Baby Lukashevsky and his band Cocoa Corner, Constant Smiles, Slow Crush have a rather fine new single, something from Clémentine March and is that something new from Smote?

ORGAN: Five bands we took away from this year’s ArcTanGent – Lowen’s powerful blend of progressive metal and Iranian classical music, Love Rarely’s math flavoured hardcore bite, the intricate sound of Tangled Hair, Meth were intensely intense! Overhead, The Albatross…

One response to “ORGAN: Five Music Things – Flesh Narc are a freaked out extreme rock band from Denton, Texas, what happened to Igorrr’s piano? Penelope Trappes, Softcult, The Sound of Animals Fighting, The Orchestra (For Now), Weasel Walter does ELO! And…”
