And so after another live event, that beautiful once a year thing that now calls Kings Cross home, moved on line for a week. The Art Car Boot Fair is now on line until midnight UK time on Sunday 5th October, not so much the slightly anarchic affair that the love thing is with all the queues and the performance and the colour and the noise, the on line version is more a short sharp shop only open for a week, a place where you can explore and find art at Car Boot friendly prices, art from some of those artists who were invited to take part in the live event last a couple of weeks back now, here’s some coverage an imagery from that live event by the way – ORGAN THING: And so after all the counting down, the 2025 Art Car Boot Fair (almost defiantly) happened. Was it a good one? Yes it was…

And so, after the chaos and the pie throwing on the live event, over 90 artists and collectives were invited to take part in the online version of this year’s Art Car Boot Fair, some of them riffing off the notion of this year’s theme, Comedy and the Comic, some completely ignoring the theme because, well because there’s nothing funny about art.

“An exciting array of artworks, artwares now available to our global online audience – unmissable art deals abound from this fabulous artist line-up!” shouted the fair.

You do have to do some searching, some artists have taken the time to pack their pages, alas one or two have slightly let the side down by not doing so (what happened Jealous Gallery?), you do have to take the time to search, the “Surprise Me” can be useful (although surprisingly it does tend to land on some artists a little more than others), just go search down the list, it is rather enjoyable to just search and there’s is probably something for everyone, from ceramics to contemporary painting, pop art to political comment, drawing, scream printing or was that another typo? Did I mean to say screen printing? You’re not going to like everything, be strange if you did really, but you will find almost certainly find something

Sean Worrall

So Cultivate Gallery founders, myself, Sean Worrall, and artistic partner in crime Emma Harvey have once again been invited to take part, something never to be taken for granted on our part and we do like to support the things we’re invited to take part in, it is part of being an artist surely? And yes, wipe that cynical smile off your face, this is partly a big self indulgent plug, selling my own art is now we keep this Organ thing going so all you bands and record labels as well as all you artists and galleries we’re constantly supporting on these pages, so feel free to go have a look (or at least have a look at our donation page)

Here then are our picks from this year’s online version of the Art Car Boot Fair, Emma’s first and then me. Yes, we did allow ourselves to pick one piece of each other’s work alongside our favourites from this year. Emma does have something like 50 pieces up there, I have a few more than that, I do paint everyday, there isn’t really an option not to. First up are Emma Harvey’s picks….

Do as always please click on an image to see the whole thing or to run the slide show, the names of the artists will work as links that will take you to that piece of work at the fair’s website…

And Sean’s pick, my pick, although for the record, if Emma had picked the artist already, I didn’t repeat, there may well have been a couple of the artists picked by Emma who might have been in my selection…

The Art Car Boot Fair is essentially an artist-led affair, it has been for some twenty or so years now, it has always been a fine way to interact directly with and indeed support artists while finding art at prices that might just be a little more friendly then your average art gallery.

Each artist taking part has a page of their own, some artists are adding pieces as the week evolves (so it is worth checking back), you have until Midnight on Sunday 5th October to explore it all…
