Organ is 39 years old today, launched at a Hawkwind gig, on this day 39 years ago. Shall we write a new editorial? Who needs a damn editorial let alone a new one? Who needs what? No time for editorials, let the actual music do the actual walking and the actual talking. Exact same thing as last time once again, another five (or so) slices of music that have passed our way recently, five slices of music cherry picked for your delight and however you like to slice it and of course it was the price of peaches and here comes the editorial.
Five? There’s something rather compelling about five. Cross-pollination? Five more? Is there another way? A better way? A cure for pulling flying swordfish out of the clouds? Is there a rhyme? Is there a reason? Was there ever a reason? What do reasons make? Five more? Cake oil? Snake oil? Bake the oil, everything must go somewhere and no, we never do and the proof of the pudding is in that proof reading. When we started this thing, oh never mind, it doesn’t matter why we started this damn thing, we never should have done and like we asked last time, does anyone bother reading the editorial? Does anyone ever actually look down the rabbit hole or is it all just method acting? We do really try to listen to everything that comes in, we are very (very) very very picky about what we actually post on these fractured pages or about what gets played on the radio or indeed what we hang in a gallery.
Cut to the chase, never mind the editorial, skip this bit, there’s music further down the page, five or so pieces of music that have come our way in the last few days and what’s Wordsworth? Just the basic facts and links and those sounds (and visuals), that’s surely all you need from us on these Five pages we reguarly post?
Here we go, five more slices of music that have recently come our way, this time we start with, well where have these people come from? Dearborn, MI so it seems, over in the USA
1: Prostitute – Dearborn, MI band Prostitute have announced details of the first worldwide release of their acclaimed debut album, Attempted Martyr, alongside news of their signing to Mute and a European tour. Attempted Martyr will be released on CD and two vinyl editions, a special limited Arabic edition on Lebanese sunburst vinyl exclusively through Dinked, and a red vinyl edition – on 13 March 2026. Based in Dearborn, MI, a town with America’s largest Muslim population, Prostitute were founded by Moe (frontman) and Andrew (drummer) who together write the group’s lyrics, and conceived Attempted Martyr’s thematic throughline.
Moe explains, “I had an identity crisis, growing up, 9/11 started a lot of xenophobia and Arab hatred and all that kind of shit. I hated being Arabic. I hated Arabs in general, just because people were hating me. Through much of my 20s I felt like, ‘How about I be the character you want me to be?’” Andrew took that crisis and, explains Moe, “ran with it, and made the philosophy behind it, this ‘radical terrorism’, this crazed zealot thing.”
2: Yamila – “Today, Yamila shares a second track from her forthcoming album, Noor, to be released on February 6th, 2026 through Mexico City-based label Umor Rex.
“In this new work, the Spanish cellist, singer and producer intertwines strings and electronics to sculpt landscapes where listening expands toward territories of dusky beauty. The album was born under the shelter of a secret ecological community. There, among damp meadows and the song of a blackbird, Yamila feels an ancient urge—to sing to the bees. Inspired by ancestral rituals in which sound served as a bridge between species—to summon herds or soothe the trembling sky – the artist listens to the wind and reimagines that lost practice through a contemporary language: titanic harmonies dissolving into fragile microtones, rhythms that pulse not merely as measure, but as breath that stirs the body”.
Here’s the Bandcamp and a second track ahead of next year’s album release

3: Quatuor Mémoire – a taste of the new Chronos, Kaïros & Aîon album that’s due out this December 12th. Right now you can hear one intriguing piece of music on the label’s bandcamp page, a piece composed by Florence Tremblay
“Quatuor Mémoire’s first album, Chronos, Kairos & Aion, presents works by three emerging Montreal-based composers, brought together through their exploration of microtonality, complex polyrhythms, and sound-based compositional approaches.
Florence Tremblay’s Insides explores different microtonal worlds through the string quartet. It features the use of quarter tones, principles of just intonation, and microtonality generated by glissandi. The idea behind the construction of the piece is purely energetic, following a curve that stretches and intensifies to the extreme, requiring physical endurance from the performers, who must sustain this energy until its climax”.
Founded in Montreal in 2025, Mnémosyne is a label specializing in contemporary music. Find more on the label’s Bandcamp page (shame about the album cover, the artwork really doesn’t do the music that much justice)
off on a totally different wired up line of thought now, it is what we are employed to do….
4: Dog Chocolate: Employee is taken from Dog Chocolate’s forthcoming album So Inspired, So Done In, out Feb 27th 2026 on Upset The Rhythm.
5: Toe – “Today, Wednesday 3rd December, the incredible, hugely influential and much loved Japanese band toe can finally announce a run of UK headline dates for 2026. Blending together an intricate and stunning mix of post rock, jazz, electronica, math rock, R&B and much more, these shows are long, long in the making….” Well yes, that was yesterday but we were busy yesterday, so here today is the news.
“Toe only been to the UK twice in their entire career, in 2013 (a sold out solitary London show at XOYO) and in 2016 (or an ArcTanGent Festival exclusive) – but they’ve been highly influential on the world of math rock both here and in Japan, where they’ve just completed their 25th tour across the country, culminating in an in-the-round show at a Sumo arena in Tokyo.
On top of that – the band also recently celebrated the 25th Anniversary with a huge in-the-round (sumo) arena show in Tokyo, and these shows – billed as the “Loneliness Will Shine” tour (includes Euro dates also) are part of their 25th anniversary touring. To get a better understanding of this very special band, please do watch this captivating live performance from The First Take, of the track ‘Goodbye’ feat. Asako Toki + Seigen Tokuzawa….” The dates are under the footage (and no we’re not going with the lack of a capital T)
It really isn’t much of a tour, just a toe in the water as it were. Here’s all Toe UK Tour Dates for 2026:
April 10th – Bristol, Prospect Building
April 11th – London, Electric Brixton (tickets)
April 13th – Glasgow, St Luke’s
