1: Bonfire HillSongs the Lore Taught Us: The Night Visitor – and a beautifully intriging single piece of music released on the day of the Winter Solstice (and a piece of music that only just reached us half an hour after Solstice day has ended, the shortest day has been a rather long one, it isn’t over yet!). Upon further investigation, it seems like there has been a Bonfire Hill release on the 21st day of each month all year –

“During 2025 there will be unleashed upon the world twelve songs from the ancient earth and the time-worn stones. These are the songs that we learned from the hill itself. It spoke, and we listened. These are the songs the LORE taught us. It’s dark on the uncanny slopes. Tread carefully…”

– Seems we have twelve months of releases and more besides to explore, seems we’ve arrived late, better late than ever, let me in, let me it. Will you let your lover in? The Night Visitor is indeed haunting, it is very English, it is of the olde, it is fitting it should find itself knocking on out door just at the end of the day when things turn and light starts to return…

“Adepts of the olds ways, rejoice!

The year turns again.

This track marks three years of music from the uncanny slopes of Bonfire Hill – and oh, this night, a ghost will descend the slopes and walk among us.
Our Night Visitor returns”.

We need to explore some more and if you haven’t done so already then so do you. Another fine reminder of why we still do this Organ thing… And Starlings is even more beautiful..

Meanwhile, Legs On Wheels, Manchester’s Legs On Wheels, Manchester’s very fine Legs on Wheels just released another rather fullbodied single, a gentle giant of a thing that kind of goes off and things and never feels like salt in anyone’s wound. Nothing wrong here, no need for any clothes pegs on noses, icing on the knife, influences proudly worn, dinnertime indeed. Go explore their songs. We need new bands like this…
