Jon Anderson and The Band Geeks have today announced a UK Tour, well an English tour with one date in Scotland but hey. It was starting to feel like the voice of Yes wasn’t going to make it out of his now adopted US homeland with this rather good evolving of the Yes thing…
Jon Anderson… “To be back home in the UK performing Yes music with the Band Geeks, who are dedicated Yes fans, is a dream come true for me. So come and enjoy a great event, never to be forgotten!”
Back in 2024, when they put out that Jon Anderson and The Band Geeks album out we said of it – Jon Anderson’s new one is Yes upon Yes with a bit of extra Yes, Oui! and we did like it enough to think it worthy of our end of the year best of list – Our best 43 albums of another very musically busy 2024. Who did we rate? The Flying Luttenbachers, Extra life, EarthBall, Sleepytime Gorilla Museum, Gazelle Twin, English Teacher, Slift, Uniform…
Everything about True was and is right (besides the dreadfully half-hearted album artwork. These things are important, it was Yes artwork that got most of us into Yes in the first place, nothing worse than a throwaway album cover that no one has thought much about)
Enough of all that, here’s the news…
“The celebrated tour of Jon Anderson and The Band Geeks is to come to the UK this September and October. Met with great gusto throughout their tours of the US, this unique combination of one of the most recognisable vocals in music, with the house band of a podcast will be playing YES epics, classics and more”.
And here’s a taste of that 2024 album, this pice of music is already a classic…

| “Having started the podcast ‘Band Geek with Richie Castellano’ in 2014, the Blue Öyster Cult man played with a revolving group of his friends and special guests, collectively known as The Band Geeks. They started to build an online following and were lauded for their covers of classic rock and pop songs and to date have generated over 30 million YouTube views. But it was their versions of YES songs that caught the attention of Anderson who enthused… “The first time I heard the BAND GEEKS I truly freaked out – they sound just like the classic YES of the seventies, the YES that I know and love…”. As a result, in 2023 Jon Anderson and The Band Geeks took to the road for the first time. The natural chemistry between Anderson and the band was palpable giving fans the full YES experience that many may not have expected to see again! They have been touring together ever since and released True in 2024 – an album of original material which they described as “a collection of songs that harkens back to Yes’s classic 70’s sounds as well as to their latter-day success with the album 90125”. They have since released the live album Live – Perpetual Change (2025). |
