Welcome to Mixtape No.10, please do view it all on a decent sized monitor. Once again, just like last time, we’ll let the art do the walking and most of the talking first rather than clutter the top of the page with words or introductions.

There are some thoughts down at the bottom of the page, under the actual art, along with those oh so vital links. Please do scroll to the foot of the page for those all important links to all the artists, the links are the vital things once you’ve explored the art in this exhibition, these Mixtape shows are all about you finding something that makes you want to go to the artist’s websites and find out more about the artists and what they’re going to do tomorrow…

Mixtape No.10 is the latest group show from Cultivate, once again curated by Cultivate founders Emma Harvey and Sean Worrall. Please do go explore, go find out more (and yes, there is a Spotify playlist to go with it all again as well)

What about the labels on each piece of art? What are you looking at? Is it a drawing, a photograph, a painting? Go and find out, you are essentially looking at a digital image of a piece of art and (in most cases) not the real thing. Who are these artists? What do they do?  How big are these paintings? How small are these pieces? Where does the artist come from? Does she have a show coming up? Where is he exhibiting next?  What do they think? What are you looking at? Go hit the links.

This time we’ve only labelled the pieces with the artist’s names, nothing more, none of the other clutter, the aim is to make you go to their websites to find the answers, go to their social media, get on their mailing lists, go follow them, this show is merely your open doorway, please go through it and go connect with the artists.

IMPORTANT: Please do click on an image to enlarge it and see each piece of art in full or to run the slide show and do please please please view it all on a decent sized monitor, something more respectful than just a damn phone for gawdsake, surely the art deserves more than just a tiny phone, it was put together with a decent computer screen in mind. Thank you (sw)

Repeat. We would really like to say it one more time. We would really like to think, or maybe hope, just as we said last time (and the time before), that it is all as simple as us just saying hey, here’s some exciting art and here’s the link to the artist who made it, off you go, go explore (please), go find out more (just as you would with that mixtape of music your friend made for you)

We really would like to think it was or is that simple. This is soemthing like the 45th on-line exhibition from Cultivate and we think, if we’ve counted it right, something like the 204th Cultivate art show in all. Once again this Exhibition is brought to you by Cultivate founders Sean Worrall and Emma Harvey, once again we simply invited some of our fellow artists to join us and once again we invite you to explore the art and artists we’ve gathered from all over the land and indeed the globe.

Of course, if you are interested in finding out more or indeed, interested in buying art from any of the artists, you should please go speak to them directly via the links, that is all between you and the artist and nothing to do with us, we were just making the connections, we’ve done our bit, we’ve made the introduction, now go have a delicious affair with the art or maybe the artist.

We enjoy putting these exhibitions together, we are very picky, we’ve gone through hundreds of pieces, we said all this last time (and the time before), we like that it forces us to look at other people’s art a little bit more, that it makes us explore people just a little more, that we’re forced to get to know the artists who make the art just a little more than we probably would if we weren’t curating these shows. Art excites and I hope that this exhibition excites you. It doesn’t really matter about the detail here, it doesn’t matter about the size or if the painting is in oil or the paper the print is on, not right here, not in terms of this show, and we don’t need a whole load of art talk and dancing around the architecture of it all for this is a simple on-line show where every images is flat and everything is pretty much the same size.

I said this already up there, but what about the labels?

Why just the artist’s names? What are you looking at? Is it a drawing, a photograph, a painting? Go and find out, you are essentially looking at a digital image of a piece of art, not the real thing. Who are these artists? What do they do?  How big are these paintings? How small are these pieces? What is the medium? Where does the artist come from? Does she have a show coming up? Where is he exhibiting next?  What do they think? What are you looking at? This time we’ve only labelled the pieces with the artist’s names, nothing more, none of the other clutter, the aim is to make you go to their websites to find the answers, go to their social media, get on their mailing lists, go follow them, this show is your doorway, please go through it and engage with the artists…

One again, thank you… (sw)

And as this show is called Mixtape, a mixtape of art and artists if you will, there is also a Spotify mixtape playlist down at the foot of the page

Do please use these links now, that is the real point here, the pointing you in the direction of some exciting artists we hope you will go explore and connect with (The links will mostly take you to the artist’s Instagram feeds, artists tend to keep their Instagram pages up-to-date and most of them do have more links to shows they are in or to their websites on their Instagram feeds)

And yes we did reverse the alphabetical order, some of us have had enough of always being down at the end of lists every single time

And that was it, a 45th on-line exhibition if we’ve counted properly (you can still explore them all here) and the 203rd Cultivate show in all.

A big big thanks to anyone and everyone who has visited the exhibition, a big big thanks to all involved in the show. A big thanks to all the Artists who have participated in this and previous exhibitions. And we would like to point out that none of the artists were charged a submission fee or anything else, we strongly object to galleries who charge artists to submit ot take part in on line things like this, no artist should ever have to pay just to submit work to an open call. Everything here was done for free, all those hours and hours of work…

If you do feel like making a small donation – We bring all this art, music and underculture to you for free, we really don’t want to clutter up our pages with annoying adverts, no one wants that, but it does take up a lot of time, hours and hours of time. If you should feel like supporting Organ/Cultivate (for it is one in the same) by making a small donation to help keep all this flowing that would be delightful, thank you.

Coming next? Well more more more, more online shows, more Cultivate physical shows, more of everything, Cultivate is a maximalist thing. We imagine Mixtape No.11 will be along sooner than later.
