ORGAN THING: BACK IN BLACK, an East London art show (from the makers of Organ….)

BACK IN BLACK @ CULTIVATE VYNER STREET

Coming up on Thursday 31st January and running until February 12^th and including February First Thursday evening (7^th Feb), Cultivate presents a rather diverse group show called BACK IN BLACK.

We once again invited contemporary painters, print makers, small scale sculptors, street artists, installation makers and such to interpret that title in any way they wished and selected the combination of work that excited us…

BACK IN BLACK will be a two week group show of a black nature – black in tone, black in colour, mostly black, black paint, black art, black painting, black canvas, black drawings,, monochrome, black in feel, black constructions… back in black #, back for more. A follow up to last year’s very well received It Is Black show that enjoyed so much attention on our always busy corner smack bang in the middle of the ever evolving thing that is Vyner Street

The Black show will open on Thursday evening 31^st Jan, I guess we’re supposed to call it a “private view”. but hey, everyone is welcome at Cultivate, no need for guest lists and all that RSVP nonsense, just come share some wine on the opening night, 6pm until 9pm, come and explore our busy walls and plinths and see the art we selected.

We then enjoy a second late night on February 7^th, First Thursday (and everything that First Thursday involves on Vyner Street, London E2).

We’re rather excited, can’t wait to hang it all…yes, I know I’m supposed to be all formal and aloof when it comes to presenting art but that’s not how we do it at Cultivate, that might annoy some, but hey if we can’t get excited about the art we’re showing then what’s the point…

The show will run for two weeks, usual gallery opening hours, Thursday to Sunday, 11.30am to 6pm or by appointment.

CULTIVATE is an artist-run gallery art space run by artists SEAN WORRALL and EMMA HARVEY, you find us right in the middle or Vyner Street, Bethnal Green, East London  We’ve been defiantly doing it our way in the middle of the ever evolving ever exciting street since September 2011, come explore and see….
