ORGAN THING: The new UPSILON ACRUX line up emerges, but who are MOTHERS OF GUT, INNERDS and SECRET FUN CLUB?

upsalonlogoOrgan Thing of the Day – Today’s thing come to us via a nystery video maker from Califrnia called TheeFerick, via Paul from Upsalon Acrux, who in turn just posted news of footage of the much anticipated new line.

Go explore.  Just who are Secret Fun Club? Any band with a track called Kathleen Turner Overdrive surely have to rule!

“Finally a video (very well shot) emerges of our new 5 piece playing our new set. Thanks to theeferick! I think he has another video coming up soon” so says yer man Paul from the always vitally challenging (and long time Organ favourites) Los Angeles maximalists UPSILON ACRUX

And to quote the video maker, TheeFerick,  “Check out this rad footage of Upsilon Acrux at Los Globos in Los Angeles, CA (July 2013). These dudes have been around for a good while with a few line up changes but still keeping it solid. Lucky for us they are working on another amazing album soon to be released. They are a hurricane of jazzy avant-garde math rock experimentalism that will kill anyone’s ears who dare listen. The sound in this video doesn’t do justice to the reality of this band. Check them out when you have the opportunity. Enjoy!”

Let’s see what else this person has been filming….

Mothers of Gut just recently released their album titled “BUILDINGS” this past June and it kills. It’s a unique album compared to today’s standards. It reminds me of the psychedelic craze of the 60s and 70s with a modern touch. More like an early Pink Floyd with Syd Barrett if they got a case of the Math Rock flu. Each member bestows a positive and energetic performance onto their audience so check them out if the opportunity presents itself. For now watch this footage (July 2013) and enjoy!”

MOTHERS OF GUT

INNERDS

Check out Innerds @ the Blood Orange Infoshop in Riverside, CA. It features members Bobby Bray (The Locust, Holy Molar) and Brandon Relf (Sleeping People). They are working on a new album called Western Spaghettification. For those of you into post-prog-skronk space-tropicalia math lounge, this is it! Check out this ridiculously sick set! Enjoy.

SECRET FUN CLUB

“Live session of Secret Fun Club @ the Blood Orange Infoshop in Riverside, CA (8.12.13). Features drummer Sal Gallegos (Some Girls, Three One G) and bassist John Rieder. Two dudes, heavy bass, mean drums, experimental noise; thats all you have to know. Enjoy!”

Thank you Theeferick whoever you may be
