ORGAN THING(S) OF THE DAY: TOASTERS, GREAT WAITRESS, WHAT JULIA MADE TODAY, MAGDA MAYAS….

ORGAN THING(S) OF THE DAY: A whole bag of art and things today while I toast some toast and hang up a green dress. Got to love those Toasters, Wolves have a breakdown in Birmingham. Question is, those toasters are all over East London, why isn’t there a toaster on the Albion pub? Somewhere near that big throstle on the wall? Do love that graphic repetition of the evolving toaster…. And we do like to see what Julia Has Made today and Great Waitress coming to Cafe Oto and things…

GREAT WAITRESS

Great Waitress

Great Waitress

An evening of intricately improvised tension, with German pianist Magda Mayas and Australian clarinet player Laura Altman returning to Cafe OTO following their standout set with Phil Durrant in 2012, performing in their trio with Sydney accordionist Monika Brooks as Great Waitress.

Great Waitress (Magda Mayas / Laura Altman / Monika Brooks) + Mark Sanders (solo), 7th January 2014 at Cafe Oto

“Multiplicity emerges in Great Waitress through virtuosic collective listening, and creates a unique lucidity. This is intricate, complex music – but … they can also converge to make the monumental.”- Rafa Segura, Modisti

.

That should do for today should it not?  More of this tomorrow, maybe….
