ORGAN THINGS FOR SATURDAY… for it is Saturday now and today is the day you get to explore the old decay and the new not decayed yet on the wall of Off The Wall. That link you just passed there will tell you more. Meanwhile, The Fall….
Fall gigs announced for September 2014 with almost the same band line up as last time!
The Fall are playing a few shows in support of their 31st album due out this Autumn on Cherry Red, Mark E Smith presents his new extended line-up featuring second drummer, Daren Garett, (formerly of PRAM and Nightingales) alongside his longest serving line-up of all time.
The Fall formed in Manchester in 1976 and has existed ever since. Essentially built around its founder and only constant member, Mark E. Smith the group’s music has gone through several stylistic changes over the years, but is often characterised by an abrasive guitar-driven sound and frequent use of repetition, always underpinned by Smith’s distinctive vocals and often cryptic lyrics. Beloved of John Peel, and pretty much everyone else who has ever mattered in alternative-music circles, Fall shows remain a completely unique experience. A miasma of krautrock, rockabilly, garage and metal, The Fall remain, as John Peel so aptly described them, “always different, always the same”
Those FALL dates: Brighton Concorde 2 – 25th Sept, London Brixton Electric – 26th Sept, Salford Music Festival – 27th Sept
The Off The Wall line up of artists looks like this, bold printed names are the new contributors this year. All happens today, Saturday August 9th….
