“Sweden’s mammoth improv collective, the 28-strong Fire! Orchestra is all about blazing new paths and fresh approaches in improvised music – via motorik groove, psychedelic soul and fully liberated freak-outs. Join them at The Laundry E8 – London Fields’ newest venue. Then sway into the night with Soul Jazz Records and celebrated Lebanese noisemaker, Morphosis.

At the core of Fire! is the trio of saxophonist Mats Gustafsson (The Thing), bassist Johan Berthling (Tape) and drummer Andreas Werliin (Wildbirds & Peacedrums). For this show, they will take their musical adventure to the next level as they are joined by a vast guest list of players and singers from the alive and kicking Swedish jazz, improv and avant rock music scene.

‘The Swedish trio go live with a 28-piece orchestra for incantatory female voices, moving from the Ornette Coleman´s Prince Street chants to soused big-band Carla Bley jazz screams and the hypnotic heavy dirge of Sleep´s Dopesmoker’ Mojo
