ORGAN THINGS: Emma Street, the car park, The Heart of Bruno Wizard, the Homosexuals and a pile of fallen leaves down underground…

SW – “Emma Street, E2”

This week is almost certain to be dominated by the events in a car park, the third level of a car park, the third level down in a circular underground brutalist 70’s looking concrete bunker of a multi-storey car park underneath Cavendish square in Westminster, central London, just off Oxford Street, deep in the heart of retail hell, well underneath a beautiful green square on the edge of retail hell.  The car park is circular, the cars and motorbikes usually parked down on level three have gone for a week, each parking bay has a piece of art in it, a piece of sculpture, a performance piece, an installation, a painting.  Take yourself down to level three, take a stroll around the full circle of the car park and explore. There’s a lot more about  the show called We Could Not Agree via this link, the art started to arrive yesterday and the rest of it is being installed today, it all starts on Monday eventing, here’s an early taste and some images from the first bits of art to arrive, including a piece called “Emma Street, E2” that I have installed in parking bay number 43.

Why is the piece called Emma Street E2? Because the original hinged together wooden screen was found last month on a pile of thrown out rubbish thrown against a wall in Emma Street, Hackney, London, E2. Piece of leaf growth have been appearing on the beautifully weathered pieces of wood over the last month, some intense growing and cultivating of leaves on the piece that is now standing on a packing case and installed in the car park in central London. The evolution of the piece is documented on my own website, I expect it will continue to evolve after this show, a piece is never finished until someone takes it away.

The opening night of the We Could not Agree Car Park show is 6pm to 9pm on Monday 13th october and then the show runs daily from Tuesday 14th Oct until Sunday 19th October at QPark Cr park, Level -3, Cavandish Square, London W1.

Lots more from the car park once the show has opened…
