ORGAN THING: Rodney Cromwell, orchestrally manoeuvring towards Liverpool’s Threshold festival of music and arts this weekend

On some end of March sunny mornings all that’s needed is for the paint to flow while a bit of orchestral manoeuvering of the new orders via some flowing synth pop flowings in a very flowing way. Let it all flow, we would say a joy division if it wasn’t for the dark images those two words throw up, black dog indeed. Today’s Organ Thing of the Day is the flowing sound of Rodney Cromwell ahead of this weekend’s flowing in Liverpool…

And some just proclaimed via our packed to bursting in-box “I’m pleased to announce that Rodney Cromwell will be performing at this year’s Threshold Festival in Liverpool, which GetIntoThis calls “A feast for Arts Lovers … A multi media arts explosion” and “One event that should be in everyone’s diaries”.

Here comes the hype and blurb and shizz and such… “London synthpop wonder Rodney Cromwell has announced that he will be performing at the Threshold Festival of Music and Arts on Saturday, April 2nd on the Silicon Dreams stage. Thresholdis a UK grassroots multi-arts event held in Liverpool’s Baltic Triangle focusing on emerging artists, new work/ first views, collaboration, DIY, avant garde and community based projects encompassing music, theatre, film, performance and visual arts”.

“In 2015, Rodney Cromwell debuted with the ‘Age of Anxiety’ LP and followed up with the ‘Black Dog’ EP, both via Happy Robots Records. These releases introduce the modern electronic lover to some epic retro future synth music. Inspired by the classic analogue-synth pop sound of the 80’s, this is complemented lyrically by Cromwell’s acerbic take on his struggle with his personal demons”.
