ORGAN PREVIEW: Condo, the multi-gallery art event, returns to London for a third time in January…

Condo 2018 is almost upon us, 2017 was a little bit hit and miss and if there was an award for most annoying dysfunctional website and unusable map then last year’s Condo map and website would have won it handsdown, 2018’s website doesn’t look that much better, there was some good art to be found in amongst the disconnected aloofness and the feeling that the general public turning up was a bit of an inconvenience to the galleries involved though. Last year’s London leg was worth exploring, here’s some of the coverage from 2017 –  ORGAN THING: Exploring the East side of Condo, is this really the cutting edge and the best of the new young galleries?

Since its launch in London in 2016 Condo has expanded to New York, Mexico City and Shanghai, this January the multi-gallery comes back to London. The third London version of Condo, Condo 2018 will feature 46 international galleries spread across 17 London spaces.

“Condo is a large-scale collaborative exhibition of international galleries. Host galleries share their spaces with visiting galleries – either by co-curating an exhibition together, or dividing their galleries and allocating spaces. The initiative encourages the evaluation of existing models, pooling resources and acting communally to propose an environment that is more conducive for experimental gallery exhibitions to take place internationally”.

Condo 2018 will run from 13th January until 10th February, the preview weekend happens over the the weekend of 13th and 14th January with the spaces involved open on the Saturday and Sunday from midday until 6pm. THe list of spaces reads like this
