A quick flavour of a show that has just opened on-line in the hope that it will be physically open to view in a month’s time here in London. Misha Milovanovich‘s The Shape of Colour promises to be something rather special, especially if we can walk around those enticing pieces next month. What we can see via the well presented Dellaposa on-line viewing room looks deliciously intriguing, frustratingly so, it looks exciting, there’s a desperate need to actually be in the gallery with the art rather than trying to explore it via the annoying flatness of a screen. Beautifully crisp pieces, dynamic movement and yes, “undeniable magnetism”, looking at it on line is almost too much of a tease, this does look exciting, exuberant.. More details under the video (sw)
“Dellasposa is delighted to announce an exhibition of new sculptures by Misha Milovanovich, marking her first solo show with the gallery.
Presented as an online and offline exhibition in London, The Shape of Colour unveils new sculptures that expand the artist’s form and investigations into colour. Milovanovich’s sculptural compositions commenced in 2019 with a fusion of theoretical and art-historical influences across disciplines and an aesthetic blend of disparate styles and techniques.
The artist’s series is a progression from her sculptures in wood, which recall her paintings’ phantasmagorical forms and curvilinear patterns. These syntheses are then translated into steel, balancing unimaginable postures that belie their material multi-dimensional construction. The artist tends to the steel to varying degrees, shapeshifting and rendering gentle forms in some intense, anthropomorphic manifestation. At times, their contrasting textures- a few monochromatic, while others are radiant and glossy – convey a sense of visual symphony, featuring the movement of soft daub patterns, lyricism and crescendo throughout”. – Continue reading and exploring here
The show is open on-line now, it opened on March 10th and runs until 9th May and hopefully, come April, well, “Dellasposa Gallery will be opening the offline exhibition to the public on Tuesday 13 April, subject to UK government guidelines.
