ORGAN PREVIEW:  Our latest new favourite band – there is always a new favourite band, we have one most weeks – Bristol’s rather brilliantly named Slagheap hit London this coming Friday night.  A gig put on by the excellent Get in Her Ears team. “For our June edition of GIHE live, we’re back at The Victoria with the quirky, frenzied energy of Bristol’s Slagheap headlining for us. Support from the uplifting pop-punk of Leeds trio Nervous Twitch and the ‘cinematic surf-grunge’ of London artist The Famous Daxx”.

The Victoria is over in Dalston, East London. The place may have been a little hipsterfied and nothing like the gloriously ram-shackled place it was when we were putting gigs on there but it is still a decent enough venue to see a band, one of the better London music spaces and well, if Slagheap are coming to town then…

The details and the tickets and most of what you need is right here Tickets are a resonable £6, the Victoria is at 451 Queensbridge Road, London E8 3AS

Here’s more on the bands and such (and yeah, a lazy repeat of what we said about Salgheap lasr week, yeah I know but I have paint to throw, I can’t be here using up my time frothing about bands!), I gave up all this band and msuic stuff years ago…

Slagheap – No time to stop for a snack, more from Bristol – Energetic post punk nonsense from four women in their pants. Melodic, naive and raucous songs from Bristol – straight in there, eyes on the road, not eyes on the peaches, eyes on the road, stop looking at the cherries. Slagheap have taken another break from laughing alone with salads to chitter about a hunger that cannot be sated and the need for a suit of their own. No biscuits, bickering, bird feed, or macrame can rid them of this tickle. This band are fidgety, shrill and a little bit peckish yet again, this is just as good as being a little bit peckish and well look at me I’m hungry and Boyfriend up there is the new one, this one down here is from last year, they’re both vital…

Slagheap

“Destination Boyfriend our new single is going to plop into your lap this Friday! Complete with an amazing video by Clump Oollective it will be out in all places you can stream or buy music this Friday the 17th June.” Here’s the Bandcamp page, don’t stop for a snack, no time….

Here’s some more…

Meanwhile Nervous Twitch tell us they always have so much to say, or twoo much to say or well you listen, the video is right there. Nervious Twitch are from Leeds, “Hook filled fuzzy new wave pop songs” is the quote they seem happy to use on thier Twitter feed, that’ll do for us, talk is cheap, we try to deliver – straight on to the lastest Playlist with Nervous Twitch and, yes, alright indeed, a band on a mission, a band done well and…

And first up this Friday, The Famous Daxx. I know nothing about the wrcklessness of The Famous Daxx and her “mainstream-niche obscure-commercial cinematic surf grunge for your ears”, Here’s her linktree thing, Quarterlife is a fine fine song….

Feels like a well put together bill to us, there’s an art to balancing a bill and this feels like a rater fine bill….
