Where’s the Other Rock Show this week? Apparently we’re on our summer holidays, the traditional summer break is upon us., here’s the word direct from Res –   “With our regular broadcasters on their summer holidays, we go live to @radioartzone, the 100-day radio art festival curated by Knut Aufermann and Sarah Washington realised as part of Esch2022, European Capital of Culture.  Tune in now for 22 hours of: Otomo Yoshihide – Chronological Archive (1975-2022). This show covers 47 years of Otomo Yoshihide’s performances and recordings in chronological order, with commentary by Otomo himself. Including many unrealised recordings – from home recordings made in 1975 when he was 16 years old to recordings made in 2022 for this broadcast.  Ends 11am 8th August” – that’s Monday morning assuming you’re in the UK, you can listen in London on a proper radio on 104.4fm, you can tune in worldwide via the Resonance FM website.

The regular Resonance programming, including the Other Rock Show will return for a new season in September, watch this space. Meanwhile listen to loads of Other Rock Show here, and here’s last week’s show.

The other Rock show is on air via London’s Resonance 104.4FM every Sunday night at 9pm. Rhythmically other, entertaining, perplexing and unashamedly progressive sounds, playing music that uses unusual time signatures, song structures and dynamics – sounds that break out of Western music’s peculiar obsession with 4/4.
