The Gathering Doubt

The Gathering Doubt – It was Ghost Car who pointed this one out, the power of word of mouth (or sharing links on your social media feeds), Golden Time is an album that came out earlier this month, “Music by Scott Rimington who is also a member of the hard-pop group Pleasure Complex”. A solo album as The Gathering Doubt then, with all songs written and performend by Scott then. This is good, pleasing songs, gently strong, heartfelt songs, tunes, well writen songs, that closing track, Ampersand, is gorgeous and the way God Ray builds up is really something. Paul McCartney needs to be freed and well, there’s the whole album right there on Bandcamp, give it two plays and the songs will gravitate, all thirteen are worth your time, they will go everywhere, they will please everyone, nothing wasted, fine timelapse, in widescreen. There’s something very easy about all this, something rather enjoyable, welcoming, warm, damn fine songs, all of them, the craft of actual song writing, but that last one, Ampersand, is something extra wonderful and moments like that are why we still do this time-eating thankless Organ thing that we should have killed off years ago…
