Artist and illustrator of dystopian fairy tales Laura New has a fresh body of work, a little tiny bit of a departure but still very very much Laura New – “Beginning with one of my original ink drawings, I have made a series of decisions using AI to create a pattern of individual new images sourced from just one original. The pattern is eternal and can be minutely changed to further the series forever with every result being completely unique. I’ve managed to unearth strange, curious and lonely characters in bleak and desolate landscapes. Abandoned children linger amidst creatures that lurk somewhere between charming and terrifying in an endless purgatory 🖤”. The new work will be available as limited edition prints at the Winter 2022 online edition of the Art Car Boot Fair that kicks off this evening.

The prints will be available this weekend at this Winter’s on-line Art Car Boot Fair, the fair actually opens today, Thursday 1st December at 6pm, although you do need to buy a ticket to get in on the first evening and get first pickings. Entry will be free to everyone from 8am on Friday morning and until the fair closes at midnight on Sunday December 4th.
Laura will be live on line via Instagram talking about her art with Art Car Boot Fair founer Karen Ashton at 4pm today, today being Thursday December 1st, if you miss it live then I imagine you can find it later on the ACBF Insta feed along with a number of other Art Car Boot Fair Get up Close and Virtual interview pieces with participating artists.
There’s something like 150 invited artists taking part in the on-line Art Car Boot Fair from 6pm tonight and throughout the weekend, here’s the link that takes you there.
