Organ Thing of The Day? Cut to the chase, here it is, Man/Woman/Chainsaw performing live at The George Tavern in London…

“Following a sold out Halloween show at 100 Club and the news that they’ll be travelling to the US for the first time to play SXSW next year, today the London-based six-piece Man/Woman/Chainsaw release their debut EP Eazy Peazy through indie tastemakers Fat Possum.

To celebrate the release the band have shared a live session recorded at The George Tavern, a venue held dear by the band and one that has seen many of their earliest shows, directed by Ella Margolin.

Man/Woman/Chainsaw also share a visualiser for an EP highlight in “Sports Day”, a song that pairs looping, gritty post-punk in its verses to melodic, soaring piano and viola in a dual-voiced chorus becoming an immediate fan favourite across recent live dates”.

The band had the following to say about “Sports Day”:

“Sports Day takes commonplace memories of shame and embarrassment on sports day to ridiculously exaggerated levels. We were inspired by the brash, campy worlds of American films like ‘Grease’ and ‘But I’m A Cheerleader’ to set memories of teenage insecurity against a bright backdrop, with an instrumental that mimics the pomp and pageantry of a marching band.”

Previously – ORGAN: Five music things – Man/Woman/Chainsaw threaten thrilliance, Snooper go off and things again, more Kim Gordon, Yorkshire garage punk rock’n roll band Avalanche Party, Ben Lukas Boysen’s monolithic new single and…

More from the teenage London band who are threatening to be potentially thrilliant. Early days yet, the signs are good, the hype might be a tiny bit over the top right now by they do have something, The Boss does bite in the right way (although he does sound like a pain in the butt), they are biting back well, they have a got a bit of chemisty going on. The Boss is the third track to land from their anticipated debut EP, Eazy Peazy, out on November 8th on Fat Possum. Here’s the Bandcamp
