Thing of The Day today is the ongoing evolution of a small piece of East London wall just off Cambridge Heath road and opposite the bear trap that is Vyner Street, a small wall on the borders of Bethnal Green and Hackney, a wall separating the canal from the busy road..The small piece of wall, in the last couple of years, has been pasted and painted on by many people, for the last couple of months, one of ALO‘s distinctive pink pieces has been up on the wall (he’s been up on petty much every wall in East London over the last couple of months) …
The Alo piece stayed until the Autumn arrived and the rain soaked it, it started to come off, pieces flaked off and lying on the pavement…
Then someone gave the Alo piece a new (lego) face, and along came more of the butterflies that have been landing in flocks up and down Vyner Street and Cambridge Heath Road in recent weeks. A flock of brightly painted paper butterflies, dozens and dozens of them, left there by an artist called ALEX ARNELL….
What next? Watch and see…. more of this kind of thing tomorrow, maybe…
