Welcome back my friends to the page that never end, so glad you could attend, come inside come inside…. in a rush today, here’s a think, got to fly….

.

Tonight LONDON GIGS  recommends AK/DK @ The Old Blue Last Grt Eastern St, Shoreditch. Entry is free, things get underway around 8pm….  ‘Who are AK/DK? Two humans : two drumkits and a lot of electronics is what they are…’AK/DK create improvised layers of fuzzed-up synths, delays and arpeggios, and thunderous double drums. Their live shows move between the thrashy dance of Death From Above 1979 through progressive/motorik rhythms of Neu, to beautiful melodic sections that sound like they could have been beamed direct from the 1960s sound lab of Raymond Scott.’

One response to “ORGAN THING: AK/DK hit the Old Blue Last tonight….”

  1. […] AK/DK throbbed, as did New Opera Hero.   The Black Lantern landed here, a Long Beach, California musical anomaly. Their debut album We Know The Future landed early on in 2015, a frenzied mix of rock & roll and modern hardcore that feeds off the energy of punk. Gaz Coombes was worthy of mention,  Baltimore “noise-rap performer” Abdu Ali let loose a rather fine video back in February, while back in January there was some New York menace, anglerfish teeth and more from the rather excellent Pop.1280.  C-Duncan added some refined pleasure, Venom released an album, the original thrash band back and blistering, the gods of mayhem not giving a damn, the return of the long haired punks or so they said.  The Go! Team delighted us with their new album The Scene Between, oh and right back at the start of the year there was Fashion Week, the first of three Death Grips albums, not bad for a band that we thought no longer existed! And the whole year kicked off with a band who did not exist…  Not a bad musical year then… Miraculous Mule were the band to see in 2015, William D Drake released the album of the year, and Death Grips more that fulled us. Bring on 2016, we’re ready to do it all again, no cat food though…  (SW) […]
