A number of art and music events previously announce on these pages have now been cancelled due to the ongoing Covid-19 virus situation, the recently featured Twink event at Helgi’s here in Hackney, East London scheduled for this Saturday has now been cancelled as has the Turps open studio weekend we featured a couple of days ago as part of the most recent Five Recommended Art Things piece, and it seems the Louis Cole Big Band performance in London tonight, has also been postponed until September 10th, Louis has just said on his Facebook page, that the decision was his and that “I just don’t feel right about doing a big show with this stuff going on”

.

Meanwhile Van Der Graaf Generator‘s Peter Hammill has just posted on Twitter; “Sorry, but it’s inevitable. All the VdGG shows in April have been cancelled. We’re working hard on rearranging them for September/October and tickets will remain valid for those dates. At the moment the May shows are still on. But these are parlous times”, he also posted on the Sofasound website…

“Desperately sad, but we’re afraid that all the VdGG shows in March and April have now been cancelled as a result of Covid-19. We are already actively working on rescheduling these shows for later in the year and tickets will remain valid for those dates. So sorry, we’ve worked hard to get this stuff together but there’s no option but to pull the shows at this stage. At present the concerts in May remain in place but of course we are in unprecedented times and the future is parlous.Stay as safe as is possible, everyone”.
