ORGAN THING: Camille Walala’s big bold “Ice and a Slice” at Northwest Arkansas Airport, a colossal artistic takeover of two giant aircraft hangers…

Organ Thing of The Day: Look at that! It’s big. It’s bold. It’s “Ice and a Slice”, we like it lots! It was painted by artist and colour wizard Camille Walala and curated by Just Kids – “Unprecedented, this summer we tackled the curation of a colossal scale 360° takeover of two airport hangars and a special lounge inside the Northwest Arkansas National Airport to greet travellers coming or going!”

“I called the airport pieces “Ice and a Slice” as a reference to a classic line that British air hostesses would say to a traveller onboard when serving them a drink. “Would you like ice and a slice of lemon in your drink?” I thought it was a fun play on words for an airport-related artwork.” – Camille Walala

She right, we do say “Ice and a slice”. Love this piece, love most things Just Kids are involved in over there in the USA. The things they do usually are big and bright and very exciting. Love the fact that XNA Northwest Arkansas National Airport looks like this, “blindin’ mate, that’s the dogs!” as we also like to say over here…
