ORGAN THINGS OF THE DAY: ESPANISH CONEXION at HIGH ROLLER, EUGENE of OXBOW and…

THING OF DAY NOVEMBER 29th… ESPANISH CONEXION and a whole load of upbeat Spanish street flavoured art at HIGH ROLLER, EUGENE of OXBOW high rolling everywhere, SPRING OFFENSIVE gently rolling in Hoxton…..

Knuckle up? What is EUGENE S, ROBINSON, he of the mighty OXBOW, on about? You’ve got to love the man, is there a better frontman out there right now?  Oxbow are in the UK right now doing the ATP Nightmare Before Christmas thing and such.

KNUCKLE UP is where  I talk shit about people who will and can kill me for talking shit. Yes. A big balled maneuver for the ages!”

“KNUCKLE UP host EUGENE S. ROBINSON is a modern living example of the power of fetal alcohol syndrome in transforming something already good [alcohol] into something even better [hostile commentary and scabrous attacks on random targets] and in ROUND #494 he delves deep, deep, DEEP into the mind of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu playboy SERGIO COSTA and his translator LEOPOLDO SERAO who break down the UFC’s top fighters from a PURE BJJ perspective [the results are truly surprising]. Add to this an extension of his nut-jumping take on the upcoming NATE DIAZ v BEN HENDERSON matchup, the never-ending fantasy MMA league shifting around of deck chairs over the GSP v ANDERSON SILVA v JON JONES v JUNIOR DOS SANTOS and you have a post-Thanksgiving show to be thankful for”.

And here’s some actual OXBOW for your pleasure..

‘Time, Gentlemen, Time’ performed by Oxbow live at the Paradiso, Amsterdam. Go to fabchannel to check out the entire show.

Actually if we could get Marina Organ over there to cough it up, she’s got better footage of Oxbow than anyone, until then, here’s footage of the orchestral version at Birmingham Gibb Street Warehouse back in October as part of this year’s Supersonic Festival

Meanwhile over at the East London gallery that is HIGH ROLLER SOCIETY some colourfully upbeat Spanish art and a show called ESPANISH CONEXION that opens this Friday night…. “A celebration of passion, respect and love of street art….”

The show runs at High Roller Society, London, E2, from December 1st until December (Opening night, Friday 30th November, 6 – 9pm)

“Espanish Conexion is a brand new group exhibition, showcasing more than 70 artists who represent the very best of Spanish Art from the Streets. You can expect a wide variety of styles, from the ‘Classic Graffiti’ popularised in Madrid to Barcelona´s own bright, happy, colourful styles… from Black Book pieces to the most current innovative video art… Espanish Conexion opens the door for a generation of artists that are currently transforming the face of contemporary Spain art.  This generation of artists may be graphic designers, tattoo artists or gainfully employed by international art institutions (Tate, MNCARS, Cervantes Institute), but Espanish Conexion shows they can still grab an aerosol and make a very Spanish statement
