I guess we just pick up like we nearly did last time and where we left off and who needs who? Still no time for editorials, repeat, replete, reheat, let the actual music do the actual walking and the actual talking. Exact same thing as last time once again, another five (or so) slices of music that have passed our way recently, five slices of music cherry picked for your delight and however you like to slice it and of course it was the price of bird seed and yes we did say all this last time (surely no one reads the intro when the music is waiting down there)

Five? I guess we should, another five? There’s something rather compelling about five. Cross-pollination? Five more? Is there another way? A better way? A cure for pulling flying swordfish out of the clouds? Is there a rhyme? Is there a reason? What do reasons make? Five more? Cake oil? Snake oil? Bake the oil, everything must go somewhere and no, we never do and the proof of the pudding is in that proof reading and who reads editorials?

When we started this thing, oh never mind, it doesn’t matter why we started this damn thing, we never should have done and like we asked last time, who are the cake? We do really try to listen to everything that comes in, we are very (very) very very picky about what we actually post on these fractured pages or about what gets played on the radio or indeed what we hang in a gallery.

Cut to the chase, never mind the editorial, skip this bit, there’s music further down the page, five or so pieces of music that have come our way in the last few days and what’s Wordsworth? On these Five Pieces of Music pages you just the basic facts and links and those sounds (and visuals), that’s surely all you need from us on these Five pages we reguarly post?

But then “what’s all the fuss about Toy Car? Listen to Reason and find out…” asked someone or other from some music PR company or other, so we did listen (because rather stupidly we do listen to everything that gets sent in here) and no, no idea what all the fuss is about (if indeed there is any? We’ve not seen or heard any fuss) all we heard was some cut price Temu version of some rather lightweight very slightly grungy slightly Oasisish indie guitar by numbers nothingness and stop crying wolf will yer? We’re just going to delete your damn emails without opening them if you can’t back up the stupid statements or in this case stupid questions in your subject lines. Here’s some new Abstract Concrete, you will be happy to know Abstract Concrete don’t want to be Temu Oasis, they do know you will be happy…

Here we go then, five more slices of music that have recently come our way, this time we start somewhere in… well… well we could only be in South London

1: Abstract Concrete have apparently shared a new single and video, You Will Be Happy is taken from their second album Guilty Buildings, seems it is due out on November 19 from somewhere or other and you will be happy, go to sleep now, We know who you are, we know where you live We know what you want, we know what you need, well what you need is a link…

Well what you actually need to be happy is a link to that new Abstract Concrete album, if only they’d talk to us and send us these things, I’m sure there will be one in a moment, I can’t find one and frankly I’m not going to bust a gut to find one, we probably pissed the band off or something. Abstract Concrete being Charles Hayward, he of This Heat or not This Heat or whatever

Previously

ORGAN THING: Abstract Concrete, outside of This Heat or (This is Not) This Heat shows, this feels like the most song orientated Charles Hayward has been for quite some time. of course it is experimental, of course it is, but…

ORGAN THING: This Heat or not, that was magical. This Is Not This Heat sounding very big at the Barbican…

Anyway, enough of concrete and abstract things, I was in a shop in Dalston this morning, over on the other side of Hackney, never mind what I was doing there, none of your business but I did stop at a shop on the way to wherever I was going and they were playing some classic Woodstock era Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young and I’ve been quierly itching to hear some more all day. Just got home and before I can get to some this Crown Lands footage pops up via the Algorhythm. Not that Crown Lands sound like CSNY, nothing like them, not a harmony in sight, it is a classic slice of Seventies flavoured rock though, some kind of not quite hard rock in a very hard rock kind of way and Rush and Truimph and April Wine and well, I wouldn’t want to eat the whole cake but this one slice will do for right now…

2: Crown Lands and something filmed and recorded live at Chalet Studio. The Revenants II was originally featured on the Casting Stones EP and Apocalypse (Deluxe Edition). I see they’re from Canada, that makes sense, laying on the line or what, it is that classic North American AOR edged hard rock that almost dares to be not quite Prog in the best of way that Styx or Triumph did it, lots of 70’s Rush thrown in… Here’s that Apocalypse thing that this track can be found on via Bandcamp…

3: Yoo Doo Right – More from Canada, more You Do Right, more fron that jsut released album we covered a few pages back, head there for those links and details and – ORGAN: Albums, Albums, Albums – Yoo Doo Right are back to Build and Rest by the Shepherd’s Light, Jörgen Gustafsson does his ambient thing, Trentemøller’s pop, Trope’s not that progressive slick modern metal and…

4: Liars – Beat Creep Some Eyes, a second track taken from the new album by Liars. The new album is called A Ban On Plastic Bag Bans, it comes out next year, 5th March 2027, we brought you that news already when the first track was posted on these pages – Angus Andrew has announced details of the new Liars album, A Ban On Plastic Bag Bans, hear a first track here…

5: USA Nails and is this a pulse or click track? Let’s see what we can manifest here, is this make believe? Is this the time loop I got stuck in for a couple of hours yesterday? Are the people we know complete strangers? Where were we? Another track off next year’s USA Nails album, the London band are sounding as good as ever, is it good though? Is it good for your passion? Sleep disruption? The upcoming album is called Routine Flesh it comes out on Skin Graft on February 27th, it is hyper tension with a short shock, is it make believe? We did share the news of the new album along with the first track off said album a few weeks back, more about it via this link – ORGAN: Five Music Things – More from Piss, there can’t be too much, a new USA Nails album announced, Crash of Rhinos, Chastity Belt have a new album on the way, Tom Morello and…

Here is that first track again….

Previously…

ORGAN THING: Three albums – the relentless confrontation that is USA Nails, the garage punk of The Sex Organs, the post hardcore of Rated Eye…

ORGAN THING: New Psychic Graveyard, new USA Nails, a split from SkinGraft and hear an exclusive track from the new Cheer Accident album premiered on this weekend’s Other Rock Show on during ResonanceFM fundraising week…

ORGAN: Five Music Things – Árstíðir and a traditional nursery rhyme known and loved by every living Icelander, here’s some more Madam Orange, Blackwater Holylight, shall we mention them again? Ritual Error? Hell yes! And The Chats in a caravan on a race track and…

ORGAN: Five Music Things – US-German noise-rock band Smile, Party Dozen at Red Rocks, the pop art of Trentemøller, more graceful splat from Deep Purple, Mr. Phylzz, Demonpussy, Peter Hammill and yes, that’s more than five…

ORGAN: Five musical things, five insect-like experiments or… The falling into sync of a new Rutger Hoedemaekers album, more Insect Factory, Masayoshi Fujita, more from Yoo Doo Right, Nathaniel Kemeno, Robert Fripp and…

And here, the greatest song the best band ever ever made, from back when they didn’t mess around. There is no reason what so ever to leave this here at the foot of the page, who needs a reason?

Finally got around to that bit of Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young that was needed a couple of days ago after that charity shop in Hackney, well Dalston actually…
