Cultivate is an artist-run space that you’ll find right smack bang in the middle of East London’s gallery-rich Vyner Street, (Bethnal Green, E2). The intention was to, rather than just complain about the London gallery system and the way artists are treated, run a space from an artist’s point of view and try and understand why it all works in the way it does/ The intention was to do it for six months, sixteen months later we’re still here exploring how people interact with art, how the system does or doesn’t work, how gallery people really don’t like artists stepping on their toes and dirtying their comfortable shoes….

TEN opens at Cultivate, Vyner Street, this Thursday 14th Feb, we open at 6pm, everyone is welcome… no need to RSVP or any of that stuff, our “private views” are always public.
DSCREET says “Made this film with MISS VAN in Sao Paulo, one of my favourite artists in a very interesting and crazy city”
“Miss Van is one of our all time favs and she features in the latest issue 21 of VNA. After a lengthy hiatus from painting on the streets, we caught up with her in Sao Paulo where she was feeding off the local vibes and getting sparked to paint outside again. We’re glad shes back.” – VERY NEARLY ALMOST
Last night’s exclamation on a 50cm x 50cm on a dirty white canvas left outside the studio, painted last night, on the gallery wall today – gold, violet and black acrylic and just a drop of Montana dripped on to it…..
