ORGAN PREVIEW – Introducing Emalin Stories: Kembra Pfahler and Vaginal Davis

“For the inaugural edition of Stories, Kembra Pfahler caught up with long-time friend Vaginal Davis on a video call.  Kembra Pfahler is a performance artist, musician and filmmaker. She was born in Hermosa Beach, California, in 1961. Pfahler lives and works in New York, where she teaches at Columbia School of the Arts. She is the lead singer of The Voluptuous Horror of Karen Black, a classic theatrical rock band she started with Samoa Moriki in 1990.  Vaginal Davis is a performance artist, musician, filmmaker and writer. She was born in Los Angeles and currently lives and works in Berlin. Davis’s artistic production also extends to her participation in a number of bands, including The Afro Sisters, black fag and Pedro, Muriel, & Esther (PME). Pfahler and Davis have been key figures in the history of the queer punk performance scenes of New York and Los Angeles since the 1970s”.

And the vitally important thing here is, if whatever is happening involves either of those two names then you know it is going to be well worth taking a moment to check it out.
