ORGAN THING: Elliott Smith, twenty years on from Either/Or, a couple of unreleased tracks…

Elliott Smith, it all seems so long ago now, almost a different world, a not so fractured one, certainly a more hopeful one. This just came in to the Organ in-box and brought it all back, the beauty of his songs and the way it all came to an end.  “Anytime new Elliott tracks surface, the world becomes a slightly better place” said someone as a comment. .

“To commemorate the 20th Anniversary of Elliott Smith’s best-selling and greatly beloved album, Either/Or, UMC are releasing Either/Or: Expanded Edition, on March 10th on 2CD and digital, with a 2LP following on May 19th. Either/Or: Expanded Edition features the original tracks carefully remastered from original tapes under the supervision of Larry Crane. The second disc features five live multi-track recordings from the Yo Yo A Go Go Festival in Olympia WA in 1997, as well as three previously unreleased studio recordings and one B-side gem. The double LP is packaged in a gatefold jacket that includes an insert of the original liner notes, a postcard of the original master tapes, and several never-before seen photos.  This gorgeous collection is an essential listen for longtime fans and newcomers alike”.

The album is released via UMC over here in Europe, via Kill Rock Stars over in the US.
