“Futuristic Paranoia” the first taste of a new band called Am I Dead Yet? Who are they then? Mary Byker and Noko440, “Widescreen Retro Cinematic” so they say…

Current PWEI member and Gaye Byker On Acid frontman Mary Byker with long-time collaborator and Apollo 440 founder-member and Magazine guitarist Noko, would like to introduce their new musical project Am I Dead Yet?

Am I Dead Yet? play the intimate Resistance Gallery, Poyser Street, London, E2 9RF tomorrow, Friday August 3rd

“The soundscape is wide-screen retro-cinematic;
the mood is distinctly noir.
The lyrical preoccupations are the musings of paranoid retro-futurists, knee-deep in the shit of the grand, crazy, dystopic lie in which we currently reside.
The utopian technology that was supposed to liberate and unite us, now seems to be tearing us apart.
Bad news is simply fake news and nothing and everything is true in equal measure.
It’s all about songs…….
Songs of alienation and grief : walls of sculptured pretty noise ; hi-fi sensations that stand in the shadows cast in the light of a future past.
For the first time…..Mary singing (rather than shouting) over a lush Lynchian laptop orchestra, replete with the sumptuous twang of Noko’s vintage white falcon, buried deep in a canyon of spring reverb.
Ladies, Gentlemen and Fluid-gender citizens of the world…….
For your edification and enjoyment….
Am I Dead Yet?”
