ORGAN PREVIEW: Always On My Mind (an exhibition in aid of The National Brain Appeal) is a ahow curated by artist Harry Pye (that’s his paintingof Elvis up there), it happens at Fitzrovia Gallery London W1. Opening Party 6pm till 9pm on Tuesday 26th July. Then open Wed 27th July to Sat 30th July between 12pm and 6pm. Admission is free. The show features; drawings, prints, photography, paintings, and sculpture that reveal what is happening inside of the heads of 16 esteemed artists; Magda Archer, Gordon Beswick, Sasha Bowles, Nick Cave, Billy Childish, Matthew Collings, Alice Herrick, Corin Johnson, James Johnston, Francis Macdonald, Kate Murdoch, Carson Parkin-Fairley, Harry Pye, Elena-Andreea Teleaga, Twinkle Troughton, Tracey Williams
The artists have made work about their obsessions and what’s going on inside their heads. There are also several tributes to Elvis Presley whose song ‘Always On My Mind’ was number one 50 years ago. The artists hope to raise money for and awareness of The National Brain Appeal. Who are an organisation that raises much-needed funds for The National Hospital of Neurology and Neurosurgery and the UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology – together known as Queen Square. The National Hospital is one of the world’s leading centres for the diagnosis, treatment and care of patients with a wide range of neurological and neuromuscular conditions including stroke, multiple sclerosis, brain cancer, epilepsy, Parkinson’s disease, migraine and dementia.
Fitzrovia Gallery is at 139 Whitfield St, London, W1T 5EN. The opening party or private view or whatever you want to call it, runs from 6pm till 9pm on Tuesday 26th July. The exhbition is then open from Wednesday 27th July to Saturday 30th July between 12pm and 6pm. Admission is free
