Welcome to Mixtape No.3. This time, just like last time, we’ll let the art do the walking first rather than clutter the top of the page with words or introductions, there are some thoughts down at the bottom of the page, under the actual art, along with those oh so vital links. Please do scroll to the foot of the page for those all important links to all the artists, the links are the vital things once you’ve explored the art…
Mixtape No.3 is the latest group show from Cultivate, once again curated by Cultivate founders Emma Harvey and Sean Worrall (and yes, there is a Spotify playlist again as well)
Please click on an image to enlarge it and see each piece of art in full or to run the slide show and do please please please view it all on a decent sized monitor, something more respectful than just a damn phone for gawdsake, surely the art deserves more than just a tiny phone… Thank you

.
We would really like to say it again…We would really like to think, or maybe hope, just as we said last time, that it as simple as us just saying hey, here’s some art and here’s the links to the artists, off you go.
We really would like to think it was or is that simple. This is the 27th on-line exhibition from Cultivate and we think, if we’ve counted it right, the 182nd Cultivate art show in all. Once again this Exhibition is brought to you by Cultivate founders Sean Worrall and Emma Harvey, once again we invited our fellow artists to join us and once again we invite you to explore the art and artists we’ve gathered from all over the land and indeed the globe.
Of course, if you are interested in finding out more or indeed, interested in buying art from any of the artists, you should go speak to them directly via the links, that is all between you and the artist and nothing to do with us, we were just making the connections, we’ve done our bit.
We enjoy putting these exhibitions together, we are very picky, we’ve gone through , hundreds of pieces, we said all this last time (and the time before), we like that it forces us to look at other people’s art a little more, that it makes us explore people just a little more, that we’re forced to get to know the artists who make the art just a little more than we probably would. Art excites and I hope that this exhibition excites you. It doesn’t really matter about the detail here, it doesn’t matter about the size or if the painting is in oil or the size of the print, not right here, not in terms of this show, we don’t need a whole loads of art talk and dancing around the architecture of it all for this is a simple on-line show and everything is flat, everything is the same size. Some of the pieces comes with details, some with just a name, this is deliberate, it is about a flavour and a link The important thing here is that you react, that you think “oh, she looks like an exciting artist” or “I like what he’s doing, let me hit the link and find out more”. Please please do go follow the artist’s social media feeds, explore their websites, get on their mailing lists and maybe see their art for real at some point in the future if you get a chance. This is about connecting things, connecting people, about cross-pollination, about artists coming together to make things happen and about us shouting, “hey, look at this artist”. I do hope this show is as simple as that. hopefully it really is as simple as that? A Mixtape of art there to be explored, simple. Thank you (sw)
And on the day before this show, as we were putting it all together, we woke to the news from Turkey and Syria and the awful devastation as a result of the earthquake. We have two Turkish artists in Mixtape No.3, Melike and Ezgi Bicakci, thankfully we have heard from both of them, that are both okay, both of course are worried about family and friends. Our thoughts are with them and with the people of the region.
And as this show is called Mixtape, a mixtape of art and artists if you will, there is also a Spotify playlist, 43 or more pieces of music.
LINKS TO THE ARTISTS
Do please use those links now, that is the real point here, the pointing you in the direction of some exciting artists we hope you will go explore and connect with (The links will mostly take you to the artist’s Instagram feeds, artists tend to keep their Instagram pages more up-to-date and they do have more links on their Instagram feeds)
And that was it, a 27th on-line exhibition and something like the 182nd Cultivate show in all. A big big thanks to anyone and everyone who has visited the exhibition, a big big thanks to all involved in the show. None of the artists were charged a submission fee or anything else, everything here was done for free…
If you do feel like making a small donation – We bring all this art, music and underculture to you for free, we really don’t want to clutter up our pages with annoying adverts, no one wants that, but it does take up a lot of time, hours and hours of time. If you should feel like supporting Organ/Cultivate (for it is one in the same) by making a small donation to help keep all this flowing that would be delightful, thank you.
.
Coming next? Well we are in to a Spring season of on-line shows now so do stay tuned, there will be more very soon, meanwhile here, here’s a mixtape…
