A simple feature, just an almost daily slice of the art posted. Some days it might be a piece of art from someone we’ve been regularly covering on these pages (and maybe working with in terms of Cultivate), other days it might be something by an (almost) household name, on other days it might be a piece of art by someone who work we hadn’t known until the day we posted it, Today is a little different, today, rather than just a slice of art we feature a film made by Los Angeles Lurking, a film about London artist Helch…
We lost Helch at the end of August, just a couple of weeks ago, we wrote a piece at the start of September – We can’t really let the news of the passing of the artist and the mystery that Helch was go by without a nod of respect… Today, we’ll jsut let the film do the talking, today, we’ll feature many slices of Helch…
“Rest in Peace to a real one. Helch put it down strong for seven years and is gone too soon. I met him a month before he passed upon the completion of his tunnel that he spent 192 hour painting. Countless solo nights. He didn’t do interviews and didn’t want his face shown in this video but I was glad to have the opportunity to meet him and I hope you enjoy this video. He was dedicated to improving his craft. May he rest easy” (Los Angeles Lurking)
